Such a quick drive to Lava hot springs! Great spot for family friendly camping. No alcohol or pets allowed- which is perfect for me! The only complaint, was the water going to the pond on all night long. I suppose if you like white noise, you’d love it. Definitely staying here again.

We go camping to be with our family, enjoying the peace and calm that nature brings. We definitely got that at Smith’s Trout Haven! It was refreshing to not have to worry about people being disorderly. Best camping experience in years! It was easy to make a reservation and I didn’t have to make it a year in advance. The owners were very helpful and kind in answering all of our questions. The campground was very clean and well maintained, including the port-a-potty. We found the price very reasonable, especially for Lava Hot Springs.

We have been coming here for years and this year has been the best year. In the past we have had to deal with loud people, drunk people, dogs barking all the time and loose dogs that would wander into our camp. I believe there new policies have made it more family friendly. The only things I would love them to have is flushing toilets and showers and more shade (which I know they have been working on for years). Other than that this place has our business for years to come.

This is a very family friendly campground. It was very quiet, especially after hours. Most of the other campgrounds were very close to the highway or train. The host's were very accommodating. Our kids had a lot of fun exploring the pond and trails.

We drive all the way from California to stay here. Owners are nice. No pets and no alcohol is a great plus for us, this way kids can enjoy the grass without any poop surprises. It’s extremely quiet and great for relaxing and escape from everything

Cute, family-friendly campground in Lava Hot springs Idaho. It's at a great location right outside town by the river, Olympic swimming pool, and the Hot Springs. (Great natural hot springs without the sulfur smell!) Small business with the campground owners living close by. Great stay for the family!
