Smoky Bear Campground and RV Park

- Service: Very friendly people at the front desk. I was given a map of the campground. They took great care to point out my campsite and to give me driving instructions on how to get there. The arrival packet also included information on nearby hikes, tourist attractions, stores, and restaurants. I was called the morning of my visit to check on my arrival time; they do have a system for late arrivals which is very helpful. - Amenities: everything you could want and more. Shower with HOT water and a large, private, clean shower stall. Clean flushing toilets. Playground. Hot tub (this was in November), laundry, kitchen, and much more. I was very impressed. - Campsite (Primitive tent): clean, spacious. Home to some delightful squirrels. If I need to camp in this area again, Smokey Bear Campground will definitely be my first choice.

We had an amazing time at Smoky Bear Campground. We stayed in the Mama Bear cabin. The space was lovely, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. And the bed the was the most comfortable we have ever had. We are typically early risers but couldn't help getting a couple more hours of the best snooze of our life. Staff was a pleasure and very accommodating when we needed to change our reservation last minute due to a change in our pet's health. Couldn't recommend this campground enough! They accept card for payment, but bringing cash for the accommodation payment is something I'd have for next time!

My husband and I and our son and daughter in law stayed here last full week of July. This was their first time, our second. The property management were very rude, not available for check in and one day mowed the grass right by us as we were eating outside. Constantly watched us and not friendly at all. Tried calling in September to make reservations for next August 2025 but told the date was to far out and rates were going up so I would have to call back in April. Mentioned that we were able to make thse reservations a year out, to which I was told the park is under new management and they don't allow bookings a year out. Due to this we booked somewhere else for that month. Fast forward to our stay last week 10/12-19, with different family members, WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! The new property management were available to check us in, help us get into our site. Every day when we saw them they always asked if everything was good or asked if we needed anything. Tammy and Marc are fantastic and always available!! They are doing a great job as managers. You couldn't have chosen a better couple to handle your park!!! We enjoyed it and had a much more relaxing camping trip this time than in July, that before we left we made reservations for same week next October (which will be our 4th time staying here) and convinced our son to give it another try, so he will be camping with us well!!! Great improvements all around!!

We were worried about going this year due to the flooding in WNC, but was reassured by the owners prior to coming. We were able to travel through VA to TN instead of using I40 per their recommendations. Wonderful stay. The owners are so accommodating and friendly. I love their check-in packet. It has campsite info, local hiking trails, and area recommendations. Tried The Alamo restaurant based on this packet and it was superb. The campsite is spacious enough for my 37 ft class A, auto transport, and vehicle. There are tree covered lots and the leaves were gorgeous. My husband now claims this place as one of our yearly travel sites. See ya in 2025.

We just wanted to take the time to thank our hosts at the Best Campground in the Gatlinburg area for a wonderful stay! We came in on Friday 10-11-24 and left on 10-17-24 and our entire stay was wonderful! We are already planning another trip back there possibly next year maybe a week or so later for more color on the tree’s . Our Chocolate Lab Bluebell loved the park and the host as well. If you’re looking for a nice peaceful, clean and really close location to just about everything this is the spot for you. Also, we have a 39’ fifth wheel and there are plenty of nice wooded sites which is what we had and they offer pull thrus as well!!! See you Ya’ll next year!!!!
