This is a great state park. I went here and was immensely satisfied with my experience. This state park is in a beautiful red canyon with several hiking trails and cliff faces for rock climbing. There are lava tubes, slot canyons, sand dunes, and petrified sand dunes here. I hiked in two lava tubes, which were about twenty feet in length. They’re technically the same lava tubes, but the portion of the lava tube between its two ends collapsed, so you have to hike into each end separately. I also hiked on some petrified sand dunes, from which I received great views of the canyon. I then went to Jenny’s Canyon, which is a small slot canyon. The sand dunes at this state park are quite small, being 10–5 ft tall at most. I gave this state park five stars because it has beautiful scenery, geology, and a myriad of things to do. Personally, I like this state park better than Zion National Park.
This wonderful park is just North of St George UT. While it is a must see do not expect seclusion - it’s basically a city park and you will have plenty of company, including 30 strong school groups. Still, it is a great place to go to experience the desert environment. Non residents pay $15 entry fee but the facilities are very good: restrooms, parking areas, bike paths(paved & gravel), trails are signed at every junction. We had a great time! Saw several road runners and was pestered by a western scrub jay at lunch. Did not see a tortoise 😕
This place is awesome! We didn’t have much time so we went on the tortoise walk and petrified sand dunes. It was amazing. We can’t wait to come back next month and explore more trails. This is also pet friendly and lots of paved walking trails. Highly recommend for kids and pets!
After hiking in Zion, I wondered if it was worth visiting another park that could compete with my experience there. The answer is that if you enjoy nature, you should definitely stop by Snow Canyon to experience a completely different scenery. Since there is often no one at the entrance booth, it’s best to purchase the entrance fee ($15 per car) online before entering the park, especially considering the weak Wi-Fi signals.
This state park is AMAZING!! I was here with Rysterio and we climbed to the top of one of the mountains near the lava tubes. It was awesome! Speaking of the lava tubes, we didn’t go through them much but they were cool and super rocky as you’d expect. The views from anywhere are staggering and I would recommend coming here. Pretty easy hikes and such and there is a little cute visitor center that was unfortunately closed when we were there. Will come again and have more time since it was dark too quick!! Those pictures are insane tho!! 💀💀💀
