Very beautiful campground (First come First served basis) right next to La Plata River, nestled in the mountains of San Juan National Forest! Nice host, 18$/night (July2022). Outhouses very clean, no water. Campground has table, benches and grill. We had campground #1 and couldn’t even see neighbors from there. We would come back! It’s such a wonderful place. Our dogs could run free in our space and didn’t had to be leashed all the time, if your dogs are well behaved. Street is next to the campground but it’s very quiet out there.
Host is amazing, camp spots are cozy. There's a picnic table at each spot from what I could see. No running water but there are (clean) pit toilets and you can filter delicious mountain water from the creek. Not too much noise from the nearby road but there was some.
Beautiful ! The campground area is well maintained. Nice weekend trip.
We camped at site 11 on the opposite side of the river. Campsite was very large and backed right up to the woods with some small trails. Host was very kind and kept bathrooms clean.
Very beautiful and the camp host were nice, reasonable price ($15) BUMMER that there is a fire ban but the next week we brought our propane fire pit, great investment!! Enjoyed our time there!
