Snug Harbor Marina & Resort

Staying at Snug Harbor was magical Basia and her family were so kind and hard working they made my stay the best and helped me create so many great experiences. I took the boat tour and was able to see the ponies, dolphins and all sorts of wildlife with Captain John. Basia took me out on a guided kayak tour and we had an amazing paddle and got to see the horses super close. The cottages were cosy, clean and very relaxing I also took advantage of another kayak outing and Basia gave the best advise for when to go out. Also got great recommendations on where to eat and shop., definitely try the village restaurant!

I can’t say thank you enough to Basia, and her mom! They are two of the hardest working women I have had the pleasure of meeting. If I needed something or had a question Basia was there. Her mom had the place so clean I felt like I could eat off the floor when I walked in. Her husband John knows the wild ponies, and area so well; Which is the only reason we got to see the mustangs every day. They also have the cutest little girl selling beautiful conch shells cheaper than anyone in town! The place and atmosphere is so beautiful, best vacation I’ve ever had.

Rooms were clean. This is saying something considering there is sand everywhere. Owners were attentive to our requests. Mornings are quiet and peaceful. Nice areas to sit and relax right at the edge of the water. One warning, if you want new buildings with franchise luxury feel this is not the place. Come here to enjoy nature and your own thoughts.

We had an amazing experience with Snug Harbor Marina tours! We did the grand tour, kayak tour and bird watching. All were informative and we checked all the boxes, seeing tons of wildlife and of course the famous pony’s of Chincoteague! Don’t be sad if no horses are around though, we saw amazing birds, including eagles and every type of shore bird! Hosts were delightful! Thats why we kept coming back! You won’t be disappointed!!

These guys are great. I chose them because they actually answered the phone and answered questions about how I could take all 9 family members while taking a vacation at Chincoteague out to see the horses up close. That included my 86 year old mother in law who grew up not far from here. Everybody was so pleased not just with the trip to get close to the horses, but the owner/skippers local knowledge. This mornings boat trip will long be remembered and appreciated. Go with these guys, you will not regret it.
