Camped here Oct 6th-10th 2024 and had an amazing time. Camped in space 1 for easy access to lake and easy to come and go out of campground. The chipmunks were friendly and had a deer in camp the first night. Cell service was spotty but I dad it. Clean campground and great off season place to stay.
Beautiful area, camp hosts were nice, tent pad, paved RV pad, table and fire ring on cement, close to a hiking path and small beach at Redfish Lake. Next to boat ramp. Bathrooms were clean. This campground is first come first serve.
Campground was easy to find. Great location. It is a first come first serve Campground. Payment is taken differently here. There is not a Dropbox for it. There is a Campground host on site. The host informed us that to get a site you typically have to line up. She starts at 8am to assign the campsite. Once you get a site, you can come back at 1pm to get set up. The site was clean. Plenty of trees depending on which site you get. Toilets and water stations avaliable. Some trails are accessible directly from Campground. Can walk to sand beach too. Firewood for sale by the host. Dog friendly! Fyi No cell reception.
I am giving this 3 stars for the campground. It is suppose to be a beautiful campground to relax and have fun with family and friends. But this campground have a host name JIM that so unfriendly and arrogant. He controls our stays. He never leave us at all, till our last day in the campground. He monitors us everyday and find little things to argue with. This host so unfriendly and difficult. We won't never go back to this campground again not unless they have a new friendly host.
Sockeye is a nice and clean campground with sand pads for the tents and concrete for tables and firepits. The trees are plentiful but smaller and skinny due to elevation and growing season. Site privacy is moderate. This park seems newly updated. I would definitely go back.
