An absolutely gorgeous and well maintained property. We came out here for a quick weekend getaway and had an amazing time. The service was so warm and welcoming and the cabin was clean and fully functioning. All the amenities were well taken care of and there was so much to do with friends and family. We highly recommend coming here.

Very nice place. Here for second time but only reason not 5 stars is y’all allow blaring music all day and all night. There are signs everywhere asking to respect neighbor but no enforcement. 10 pm right now and BLARING music on both sides of us :(. BEEN THAT WAY ALL DAY. I love music but not what I’m hearing so loud

Noticed many new tents and cabins added to revitalize Rio Cibolo Ranch. Drove through and noticed really nice single tents, family sized cabins, glamping units and day-use spaces available. Beautiful outdoor getaway spaces with swimming, canoeing and hiking outdoors and the comfort of AC units indoors. Reservations can be made online. People are already enjoying these new units. P.S. They still have a few longhorn cattle and buffalo on the ranch.

Lets start with we was looking forward to this glamping.... cons 1) the portable rr trailers were out of order but 2 and those didnt lock. none locked. 2) 4 hot tubs and none worked! 3) partial canopy up(only poles) no tarp apparently not in season 4) the volleyball area had tons of poop everywhere. 5) had no water 6) neighbors be louded all nite all day . Pros 1) beds were comfy 2) game room was nice. Just not what I expected.

So we enjoyed our stay, the staff seemed really to care about the guests and the property. However, a few details are what made me give it a three star rating. They advertise that the Safari cabins are upgraded but not all of them were at the time we booked, they did tell us finally when we were booking after some inquiry that ours would not be upgraded with the bathroom. We were told we would have a trailer Access out front that has bathroom and showers for the few cabins 4-5 that are not finished however all 25 cabins had access to that and when we complained, they said there’s nothing they can do to stop the other people from using it so that became messy And not what we Felt we were told we would be getting with our experience. The river was very crowded which we expected because it was Memorial Day weekend, but we did pay ahead of time for wristbands and when we went to get a kayak There weren’t any for us so we had to wait for 30 minutes and I felt that was not great. We were told that people often keep the kayaks and tie them up on the docks and they’re not supposed to but if we’re paying ahead of time with a limited amount of kayaks available that should be managed better. The pools were okay they weren’t awful, but I wouldn’t say they were nice Either. Overall we had a peaceful stay. We enjoyed the fire pit. We enjoyed the cabin even that was incredibly hot even with the air-conditioning but again ours was not the upgraded cabin. We saw lots of cool bugs and Wildlife Overall, I think this place is headed in the right direction with some of the upgrades.

My stay at Son’s Rio Cibolo from May 31 – June 1 was, unfortunately, extremely disappointing. What was meant to be a relaxing getaway turned into a frustrating, chaotic, and frankly, wasteful experience. Disorganized check-in Upon arrival, your check-in process was disjointed and unhelpful. When I asked how to get to the river, the woman at the front desk responded, “I really don’t know how to tell you how to get there.” For a first-time guest, this lack of basic guidance was both frustrating and unprofessional. Misleading canopy reservation I paid extra for an in-water canopy, as clearly stated on your pricing breakdown. However, upon check-in, I was told my canopy would not be in the water. This was incredibly frustrating and felt deceptive. Why charge extra for something you don’t provide? Poor enforcement and untrained staff When we finally made it to the water, there were no canopies available—yet many were clearly being used by guests not wearing the required pink wristbands. Staff didn’t seem to monitor usage at all. One young staff member, who appeared to be completely untrained, didn’t even know that reserved canopies were supposed to have clips on them. It seemed like no one was in charge. Disgusting pool conditions The pool area was overcrowded and unsanitary. Many chairs were stained, and some even smelled like urine. It was honestly disgusting. I strongly suggest you assign someone to clean and maintain that area regularly—it’s unacceptable in a place you’re charging people to enjoy. Quiet hours not enforced While our cabin (14) was clean and comfortable, our ability to sleep was completely ruined by loud, vulgar music coming from what I believe was cabin 16. Despite posted quiet hours starting at 10 p.m., the noise lasted well past 11:30 p.m.—including loud Spanish music, explicit hip-hop, and karaoke. I have recordings available if needed. It was completely disrespectful, and no staff seemed to be around to enforce any rules. Overall, our experience at Son’s Rio Cibolo was not only unpleasant, but felt like a complete waste of money. We were so uncomfortable and disappointed that we packed up and left by 8 a.m. the next morning.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Son’s Rio! The whole camp site was well maintained, every staff member I encountered was friendly and helpful. My kids LOVED the game room after a long day in the pool and creek. Unfortunately there were no available cabanas so we ended up having to pay more just to kayak than if we had rented a cabana and gotten the free kayaking. That was pretty pricey at $25 per person per day. So don’t be like me and reserve a cabana ahead of time!! We stayed in a Safari cabin (the one without a restroom) and the only downside I would say is that I was expecting more access to the restroom trailers. On the property map it shows 4 restroom/shower trailers although we only had 1 to service the whole Safari cabin area. So there was wait times to use it and I’m sure this contributed to the lack of cleanliness in there. It wasn’t terrible but also wasn’t great. Other than that everything was perfect. Great family spot for all ages with lots to do. Even during spring break with a large crowd— it never felt congested. We look forward to returning!

This location had a very easy and simple check in process. We rented the birdhouse cabin and were very happy how it turned out. It provided adequate space for everyone and had excellent amenities. They had the creek, pool, and hot tubs to enjoy the water how you see fit. They had a game room with pool table, connect 4, air hockey, and more. They had a little store in the office to purchase things you might have forgot.

I would definitely suggest that anybody that wants to go have a blast for a day or for a weekend, or even for a week, stop by here, there's a lot to do and a lot of people have lapsed the water is nice, and there's kayaks. There's boards to stand on in Neil on and all the cabins are very clean and very nice, have a full set up kitchen. So that you can cook with a barbecue pit and an outside grill.
