Good for kids
The site is level and sheltered from winds which whip through the area. There are a couple downsides: 1. if it rains, the water will pool in the designated tent areas. 2. Water is .47 miles away at Lake Helena (as of this writing). Otherwise, the site is fine for an overnight if it doesn't rain or snow...which is likely.
Sheltered well, even when the wind is howling through the trees. As of September 2020, the designated water source was dry. Water is available in Two Rivers Lake by a side trail which leaves the main trail between Sourdough and Lake Helene.
