Aside from them blocking off the free campgrounds I grew up camping at it's still one of the most beautiful places I've visited in my life
Awesome site for large groups. This place can accommodate, anything from tents to large RVs. There are on site restrooms and a stream nearby, for water... Highly recommend that you contact the forest service before to ensure that you can reserve the site for your group function/trip. Access to the Rubicon Trailhead and Desolation Wilderness are very close to to this site.
Happened upon this site and the sign clearly says if it's a fee area it needs to be labeled as such. There was no drop box and no clue as to who I should pay, where or even if I could stay there as a single person for the night. Turns out it's reserve only and at $100 a nigh . No thanks. Looked like a fairly decent campground though.
Love it up here.
