  • Experience the scenic surroundings and abundant wildlife, including trout and salamanders, which add to the charm of the area.
  • Beware of potential challenges such as trash left by previous visitors and damaged facilities. The vault toilet has been vandalized, so it's advisable to come prepared with essentials.
  • During peak seasons, be mindful of partygoers who might leave messes behind, contributing to the area's temporary disarray.

!Roads were fairly maintained, even when we hit some snow it’s still a nice little spot to get away. Beautiful area. Happy I found it to end my trip.little bit of trash but nothing I can’t handle but heard it gets pretty gross. Has a vault toilet that’s been vandalized and super beat up. From looking at reviews other places the area is flooded with party goers and they like to mess with things that aren’t theirs. Beautiful area to go to especially spring time summer I think I’ll stay away.

Beautiful off grid site. Some people did leave trash and a tent! Not cool! Minus that it’s a cool place. Dog owners be aware my dog got salmon poisoning here. There are trout and salamanders here. Both carry the virus. So keep an eye on your pooch. Untreated it’s deadly!!!

Nice spot. We took a very SMALL TRAILER on the forest roads up. Not much trouble at all. Maybe the work had been done to prepare for Obviously a lot of work is done to keep the roads sound. Still, there were some deep potholes. (We went up from Beaver, and the forest road was about 14 miles, pretty steep and hilly.) It was busy because of a holiday weekend, and the cluster of camp sights right by the lake were full. We weren't there to make new friends, so we camped at a drive-out spot that we saw on the way up. There are plenty of these drive offs, and plenty of places for "dispersed" camping. The lake is more like a POND. It's very small. Lots of people fish this pond and lots of people take little boats, canoes out on it. The pond is well-stocked, judging from the regularity with which people pulled fish despite the paddling boats in the nearby area. We used an inflatable raft, and a couple of times I was worried about the branches from sunken timber. We're looking forward to going back when it's not a holiday weekend.

The lake is a little busy for the intensity of the drive up the mountain. The last few miles are gravel road — be ready for bumps! The lake itself is teaming with life. Fish, craw dads, newts, and all other sorts of critters are all around. The water is crystal clear, and the area has plenty of logging roads to explore. One pit toilet was near the lake. There was also an abandoned car that seemed like it had been there for a bit.

First time walking around the lake in over ten years and it is still a beautiful place to enjoy a beautiful day.

Beautiful and quiet. Risky drive up. I'd suggest skilled driver and good vehicle.
