South Sandusky Campground, located on Co Hwy 44 in Benton, IL 62812, offers a comfortable and spacious camping experience at Rend Lake. As a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, it caters to families and individuals seeking a relaxing outdoor getaway.
According to customer reviews, South Sandusky Campground is known for its large, paved camping spots, accompanied by generous gravel picnic areas. The campground provides ample space for both campers and vehicles, including designated parking for boats and trucks next to the camping spots. The campground is family-friendly, featuring a playground for children. Additionally, a shower house is conveniently located nearby, although access may vary depending on the specific camping area. One review mentioned a discrepancy regarding shower house access at the "Dogwood" area, suggesting that campers may need to travel to the "Redbud" area for shower facilities.

Very nice campgrounds at Rend Lake. South Sandusky has big paved spots with huge gravel picnic area. Shower house is close by as well as playground for the kiddos.. there is spaces to park both your boat and truck next to your camper. Nicely shaded spots.
It’s peaceful here only downside we had was there is no shower house at dogwood you have to go to redbud. Also the raccoons are crazy at night they definitely aren’t scared of people.
Great that they have plumbed toilets. Except for the fact that all the spiders and other species of bugs exist on the walls, and there are cobwebs everywhere. Wisconsin pit toilets are much much cleaner than this. Other than that our site was great, fire pit was a little small but a beautiful location.
Redbud site 150 best in campground.
Great place to go camping. Fishing, Boating and just hanging out!
Clean campsites with electrical hookups and bathroom. Helpful staff were present at check-in.
