My family and I had a great time, the campground was very clean and the spots were spacious with nice fire pits with a swing over grill. The camp hosts even stopped by to drop some coloring sheets as well as a scavenger hunt sheet that when completed they were given a prize. We camped at the beginning of the week and it wasn't very busy. The lake is beautiful and the two docks make for fun fishing and swimming.

Place is really nice, bear containers in every campsite, nice camping bathrooms, water pump and brand new giant wooden tables. Camp hosts were really friendly, the lake is a decent temperature and the trail around it is a nice 1.5 mile hike. My only complaint is the price… $27 a night per campsite is pretty steep for a campsite. Considering all the amenities though it makes sense. You can buy your own firewood for $10 per pack of 5-6 logs but I was able to forage for wood nearby the campsite and make do. If you bring a hatchet there are plenty of dead trees around to get some good logs.

No hook ups. Quiet and peaceful. Dirt road is terrible for 8 miles up but camp is beautiful. Sites right on lake as well as in woods. Pit toilets and a pump for water. Self pay.

It was a terrible experience. The camp host harrassed us the whole time we were there. We were planning on staying a week but left after three days. I asked the host what his problems were and he said my kind didn't belong there. Referring to my skin color I think. I asked for a refund for the two days I paid for but wasn't going to stay and he refused got upset and started yelling I was scared for my safety. Couldn't leave fast enough. He followed us a half mile outside the campground. Racism is strong at skookum campground.

Sites were clean it was quiet and not busy but it was Sunday. Camphosts didn't come say hi. When I camp hosted a different lake last year I made sure everyone knew who I was incase they needed anything. Only giving 2 stars because 29 dollars to camp in my car one night is absolutely outrageous. Most people already pay for discovery passes. Hunting license and tags. Or fishing. Dnr doesn't need to rope people even more to camp in the national Forrest
