Nice campsite! Somewhat close to the highway and train but I did not find them distracting. Swimming area at the river is just at the bottom of the campsite. When I was there, it was very quiet even though we had people on either side. Bathrooms were nice (for campsite outhouses). Great night sky photography opportunities and close to some good hiking and Quincy.
This was a beautiful place for us to have a group camp. We had about 10 families camping and it was very easy to access. There are paved roads all the way there. There is also water to play in near by.
Day use area review. Even when the campground is closed for the season the day use area is open and available for the travelers convenience. Took the time to read the bridge history signs and relaxed on our journey. pictures are of the nearby bridge and railroad system bridges.
Just got back from Spanish Creek Campground and i like to write a review to share our experienced. First as many said, “there is no host” for the entire time. This is the 2nd time we csme back herr because the 1st time were great and we really enjoyed it. The difference this time we were using the group campsite “C”. Upon arrival, no one was around, everything looks dumped, small but site says 25 people, not flatted surface so our tents are downhill and VERY HARD to sleep, LOTS OF flies and yellow jackets, toilet SO DIRTY and very far, right next to street, and very far from the lake. So if you going to use this campsite for group i refer not too. Even Group A or B stay away. I guess this will be our last time going here! Thank you.
An off the beaten path campground. Spanish creek runs around the campground and several campsites have good access to it. Mine was near a great swimming hole that I took full advantage of. Five stars indicates the stay here exceeded my expectations.
