Spider Rock Campground at Canyon de Chelly is an amazing spot to stay. The camp host is great, making you feel welcome and right at home. It’s a really peaceful place to relax and connect with nature. I stayed in a hogan hut, a traditional dwelling of the Navajo Indians of Arizona, which added a unique cultural experience to my visit. Waking up surrounded by the beautiful canyon scenery and the history of the area made this stay unforgettable. Perfect for those looking to experience the beauty and heritage of this region up close.
The overlook at Spider Rock was fantastic. If you shout into the 6 echoes back and forth around you. Awesome sunrises and sunsets
This is a very rustic campsite in Canyon de Chelly. The Canyon is glorious so don’t miss out. Location can’t be beat. This campsite is privately owned by Howard. $15 Pick your own campsite on arrival. Toilets are smelly outhouses where you pour in water in to hand flush into the ground. Shower was not available. Zero amenities. Depends what you are looking for whether this will work for you.
This is a beautiful campground set in the rural Canyon de Chelly area. We have stayed here 20 yrs ago and Howard was as charming a host as ever. This is a dry campground, so no elec, or water.
This is a very primitive and remote campground 14 miles out of Chinle on the 6,000ft rim of Canyon de Chelly. The spots are on rutted dirt roads. If it is at all wet, the gumbo clay would make traveling difficult. The campground has little to no services. We actually pulled in, found our place, and then decided to leave. The Cottonwood Campground in the Monument was much more suited to our rv.
