Great location for water access. Bathrooms available but bring your own TP! Arrive fast to secure location, it is popular on the weekends. Lots of great birds in the area from turkeys to eagles and vultures. Not a ton of trails close by but you can get to them with a little travel.

If you are looking for a nice Saturday or Sunday drive head from Boise to Mountain then up toward Anderson Ranch Reservoir. The scenery is beautiful and the colors are great in the spring showing off the great wildflowers we get around the state of Idaho. From the dam you can head up to Prairie Idaho and then back to Boise from there. Well worth the drive!

It was such a beautiful and peaceful place (last year) that I look forward to camping there again in about a week. I think it will be a great location to film wildlife with a thermal camera. If I see anything interesting I'll post it on YouTube.

Visited the campground on Oct. 16, 2016. There are two or three spots with a fire pit and picnic table. The site is located alongside the reservoir with fishing, swimming and very short hikes available without having to get into your car. This campground recently reopened after wildfire burned through the area three years ago.
