This is a great campsite along the river with stunning views of the mountains and we had the river close by. There is the alert of grizzly bears of course, as Montana is bear country, however likely due to the number of people camping we didn't see any active ones. But you will want to be prepared just in case. For tent camping the ground is flat but hard and quite a few rocks so you'll want a good pad to sleep on. There is no cell service in the area, but I did see quite a few people with Starlink setups.
Stayed in site 5, which backs up to the stream not far from the camp host. Camp host was informative and helpful. Site is close to the bathroom and was clean and quiet. Secluded from the highway. Lovely campground from which to explore local activities.
Beautiful campground! It was such a peaceful area and we had the creek right behind our campsite. Mike and Amy Torres, the camp hosts, showed such kindness and hospitality. I can't wait to come back here!
Some of the best camping I've ever done! It's a good distance into the forest and you get engulfed with trees. A nice river runs thru and perfect for kids as well. Bring plenty of bug spray. Theres a couple hiking trails and if you can find the berries, pick them!
The campground is located 3 miles down a treacherous road that could use some work. The campground host was great and I had a nice welcoming conversation with him. There could be a little bit of money invested in the facilities as some of them are a little worn out. The setting is beautiful and it is nice and private. Overall we had a great couple of nights at this campground. I would have given five stars if not for the entry road and lack of investment.
The dirt road had many stretches with mud pot holes so we litteretly had to drive 3 mph through those stretches. We were there during the week before Memorial weekend and about had the place to ourselves. It is a half day drive from Yellowstone. In May the river was too high to play in but locals were fly fishing.
