Highly recommend! We stayed at this campground in mid-Summer of 2022. Four generations of our family stayed here together during this trip, ranging from toddler-age to "very wise". The playground, and bathhouse had already received major updates, though the new owners were still in the process of updating and upgrading a few other things even while we were there. They shared some of their plans for the campground and it will continue to grow in the wow-factor in the future. :) But we felt it was already a great place to be with what they had currently done. It's an absolutely beautiful location, very peaceful with no road noise or signs of civilization. The hosts are incredibly accommodating and there were so many tasteful updates. The cabins our family stayed in had nice, modern furniture and amenities. We appreciated the fire pit with neat lighting outside our cabin, and the view from the back deck. It rained during our stay and one of the cabins our family stayed in had a great porch where the kids could still play and adults could visit, in spite of the rain. It also had a nice open area inside the cabin. There is a lake and a nice little grocery store a few miles away, and we passed a brewery on our way in, hopefully we can visit the brewery next time we visit Split Ridge Campground! Highly recommend this campground, especially if the idea of an outdated campground from the 70's isn't quite your cup of tea. :) It's a special place.
We stayed in the Sandhill cabin at Split Ridge....it was perfect! Easy to get to, incredible staff, clean, well organized, and welcoming. Pet friendly and family friendly. A hidden gem in the Northwoods! The pond and hiking trail offer incredible views and abundant wildlife. We loved seeing the dark starry sky and even a glimpse of the Northern Lights during our stay. A basic, no frills, but exceptionally comfortable and cozy place to stay. Distanced perfectly between the Blue Hills and Cornell to do a lot of Ice Age Trail hiking, as well. Would highly recommend for anyone seeking a spot of comfort during their hardy Northwoods adventure! Thank you Cheryl and team!!
Absolutely amazing cabins! My wife and I spent a few days in the Ravinwood cabin during the off-season to have some quiet time to ourselves, and the cabin itself was wonderful! Ready to go, AirBNB feel with everything needed, and AMAZING coffee! The campground is amazingly well taken care of, and the hiking trails are gorgeous, especially once the leaves start to change colors. To top it all off, one of the owners took time to come sit and chat with us around the fire and took time to detail some of the work that he's done to really turn the campground around. Highly recommend Split Ridge, and we can't wait to be back for another stay!
We stayed in one of the cabins, was over looking the pond great view to wake up to every morning deer every morning quiet, no outside traffic noises, peaceful and relaxing. The playground is great for kids and adults as there is a pavilion with different yard games and sand toys which kids enjoyed. Kids enjoyed swimming in the sandy pond, jumping off the dock, catching frogs, turtles and driving the paddle boat around the pond. Highly recommend this for a nice quiet getaway.*just throwing this out there but maybe try throwing some bluegil or something into the pond for fishing.
We were returning from our Overlanding trip and found this gem of a campground on the way. The BATHROOMS. I cannot say enough how awesome they were. It was like HGTV camp ground makeover happened haha. Awesome job. When we pulled in you could tell the current owners were really working to update the campground. The owner greeted us upon arrival and gave us free firewood as it's toward the end of the season and they found themselves with an excess amount. The only downside was a lot of camp sights were on a hill or unlevel ground. Maybe platforms for campers and tents would be good. Being the end of the season we got to pick from the whole camp ground so it was a non issue for us. Overall awesome experience!!
