Great location away from the town of Fort Collins. It's about 45+ minute drive from the entrance of Hwy 14/canyon (Fort Collins section). If you like solitude and rustic cabin, this is the CABIN to book along the canyon walls of Poudre. We stayed at Cabin #12. It sits on top of a hill and a stones throw away from the other cabins. It has a refrigerator/freezer, sink, hot plate and x2 queen size bed with a curtain divider. The bathrooms and shower area is just a stones throw away (50-75ft) from our cabin. Tyler (owner) is very informative, warm and welcoming. He provided us with towels and coffee. Looking forward to visit again in the near future!
I stayed in Cabin 3 with my family last weekend and, honestly, it was a wonderful experience! I loved the cabin. The perfect blend of rustic and modern. There were amenities like a fridge, a cook-top, coffee pot and lighting, but otherwise the cabin was very much what a cabin is supposed to be. Would that it weren't summer, and the AMAZING wood stove would have been used in a heatbeat. I fully intend to stay here again, and I'll recommend it to everyone.
Fantastic stay! So close to the river. Rustic cabins are perfect, getaway! Groups gather around the fire pit and share stories and smores!! Owners Tessa and Tyler are knowledgeable friendly and very neighborly!!!
Dishes had not been properly washed, any of them. The pan we used had burned meat and eggs cooked and dried that had to be scrubbed hard. It was pure black on the bottom and outsides like it was used on BBQ grill or open fire. Black and sticky with grease. The plates were blacked and greasy to the touch. Washed everything we used but not all that was in the cabinet. Restrooms were without paper towels after Friday night. Bedding was clean. I understand clients forgetting some details upon leaving (like I think we forgot to take out our trash...sorry. Dishes perhaps should be checked between guests for cleanliness. We have had our family reunion at Sportsmans Lodge every summer for the past 8 years. Some of our people rent the cute rustic cabins and some of us rent camping spots. There is a great area where we can all cook, eat and enjoy a campfire together, a safe play area for the kids, pet friendly, nice shower houses and so much more. The prices are very affordable. The owners are always so accommodating, making sure we have everything we need. Cute little store on the grounds in case you forget anything.
