Cool quiet place. It’s plowed in the winter. There wasn’t much snow here on January 5-6th, 2025. It’s direct access onto the road from the highway exit. It’s a rough road about 1.2 miles, that’s bumpy and has lots of pot holes. Snow coverage on the road was minimal, max 2”. The actual camp area is concrete platforms with a picnic table and fire pit in a roundabout around the vault restroom.
Great Boondocking camp! Not far off the freeway but quiet and peaceful. The shady campground has a clean vault toilets, 4 designated camp sites with level parking, enough space for a tent, picnic table, and fire ring. There are a couple other cleared areas for overflow parking as well. There are a few dirt roads to hike into the forest and along the creek. We saw elk, birds and butterflies. The forest service dirt road leading to the campground is wide and smooth and has a number of unofficial pull-in sites that look large enough for bigger RVs & trailers.
Beautiful free campground right next to spring creek. They have 4 campsites. I would not bring a motor home or RV unless under 30 feet long. They have fire pits and picnic tables. I was able to get my verizon phone to work for both calls and data. You are allowed to camp for free up to 14 days. When you turn off of I84 you only have to travel on gravel road for a little over a mile. Watch for all the potholes the road is a bit rough but duable.
Quite little campground just the right distance off Highway. Very clean and nice easy hiking, will stop here again.
Oh my gosh you guys, this is a really great little place to sleep in my van. My friend slept outside next to the fire to presumably see the stars. He was completely huddled up inside the sleeping bag because it was something like 36. It was cold. There is a lovely meadow there! I think there's five camping spots, there is no potable water, there is no trash cans. There is a vault toilet. Really nice place and it's free.
