solo test run in my Model 3 to see if I can spend a night or two in my vehicle using camp mode…yes, I can and the site was PERFECT!
Great facility for groups. Large fire ring with ring seating, 2 BBQs, large prep table and a unique wrap around picnic bench. Flush toilets and 2 private showers!
Things to know: 1. This is the MAIN campground for Spring Lake Regional Park, not just the group campground. 2. The campground is small, pretty, well-landscaped, and connected to the rest of the Park trails. 3. Of the 20-odd campsites, four have the tent sites a 20-40 meter walk away. 4. There are two quarter-operated showers. However! If one of the showers has a jammed quarter machine, and the other is occupied by a smoker/cusser/panhandler for over an hour, you are SOL (even if you paid $79/89 for one of the cabins - the Park is understaffed and the ranger will get there when s/he can). 5. There are two deep sinks outside the women’s bathroom with hot water; an alternative to #4 for hair-washing if you don’t mind an audience. Come prepared!
