Spring Valley Campground Introduce

Spring Valley Campground, located at 8000 Dozer Rd, Cambridge, OH 43725, presents a complex picture, with both positive and negative experiences reported by campers. As a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, it offers a range of activities and amenities, but also faces challenges in maintenance and customer service.

Positive reviews highlight the campground's engaging events, particularly the Halloween weekend, which includes a bike parade, hayride, trick-or-treating, and a haunted house. The campground is also praised for its friendly staff and the variety of activities offered, such as bingo, food trucks, DJs, and bands. Its accessibility to the interstate and local businesses is another advantage.

However, numerous negative reviews raise concerns about several aspects of the campground. One major issue is the lack of after-hours support, particularly regarding maintenance and emergencies. Campers have reported water outages and difficulties contacting staff outside of regular hours. The condition of the roads, restrooms, and playground is also criticized, with reports of disrepair and lack of upkeep. Additionally, the pond is described as needing maintenance due to algae, and the water quality is questioned.

Key features and considerations of Spring Valley Campground include:

  • Engaging events, especially the Halloween weekend.
  • Friendly staff (as reported by some).
  • Variety of activities (bingo, food trucks, DJs, bands).
  • Convenient location near the interstate and local businesses.
  • Lack of after-hours support.
  • Maintenance issues with roads, restrooms, and playground.
  • Water quality and availability concerns.
  • Pond maintenance issues.
  • Reports of poor management and limited staff during off-season.
  • No refunds once payment is made.

In summary, Spring Valley Campground offers a mix of entertainment and convenience, but potential campers should be aware of the reported maintenance and customer service issues. If you prioritize event participation and accessibility, and are prepared for potential maintenance shortcomings, this campground might be suitable. However, for those seeking reliable maintenance and consistent service, it's advisable to consider these reviews carefully.

Our little home away from home. Scott, Haley and Denny are very friendly and have always made us feel welcomed as regular weekend/ holiday campers the past few years. From bingo, food trucks, Dj’s and Bands, there is always something going on. We just stayed for our first Halloween weekend and what an amazing experience we had! A Bike parade for kids, hay ride, trick or treat, and impressive spooky haunted house! We love camping here because it’s accessibly to interstate, local businesses and restaurants too! Highly recommend a stay!

BEWARE IF YOU NEED AFTER HOURS HELP YOU WILL NOT GET IT. It is 7:46 at night and we have no water. Very low water pressure at the spicket so not enough to get water through any of our faucets or toilets. They had a water pipe break almost a week ago. Still not fixed and tonight from around 3 until now we haven’t had water. I called at 5:09 and was told it would be back on. Maintenance came around and said water was on but we are here with nothing now. There is absolutely NO way in contacting maintenance after hours. We are a traveling blue collar family we have stayed at KOA’s and we have stayed at middle of no where crap holes and this is the only place we’ve ever been that does not have an after hours line. Update: 8pm my husband went to find the maintenance man and was able to get it fixed. Should have known this would be a probably when the very first night I discovered there was not an emergency phone number to call when I had a drunk neighbor coming onto our campsite. They have a cool Halloween event but that’s seriously the only pro I can say about it this place. Other cons: Roads are absolutely horrid Restrooms need some serious renovations November until spring there is no one in the office there’s only the manager and one maintenance man and they work that dang maintenance man to the ground. Since it’s just him you can only get packages from office from 5pm-6pm. We have been told by so many people that the new owner is the root of the problem and I definitely think this is the case instead of paying a plumber to fix the water leak within a day or 2 they have the maintenance man working out there trying to fix it for a week. The water has a brown yellow tint even with our water filters we had nasty water. Pond is horrible needs to be raked. Any cast out you’re getting caught up on algae. Playground is practically nonexistent. Has not been updated since it was probably be put in. Swings are broken or missing. Basketball hoops have no net. When we travel we look for family friendly spots since we have 3 kids. This is not family friendly. All in all it did the job we needed it to. We had a place to stay while my husband was here for work but would not give this place more than 1 star. I sincerely hope you read this all to save you money and find some place a little nicer if you’re gonna be long term. They do NOT give you your money back once you pay.

Fine for a stop for the night. This is a huge campground with lots of long-term and short-term spots. The roads in and within are in very bad shape and need to be regraded. There is one bathhouse that could be better maintained (and cleaned). There is a dated playground that is poorly maintained. There's a creek and a very poorly maintained sizeable pond. The price was good ($44 for full hookup pull through in Sep of 2024). Our site (A2) was leveled front to back but required a small adjustment side to side. The utilities were located in the very front part of the site, requiring extentions for all 3 services. It was an easy access in and out. We had WiFi. The pool was empty (past labor day).

We are new to camping but I use to camp here when I was a kid, they had a floating dock in the lake with diving board and a slide and a beach! We were going to stay here for the winter but this place is a joke, there are potholes everywhere, the water stinks and is brown, the pond is disgusting filled with algae, the docks to fish on are falling apart, the play ground is totally outdated and doesn't look safe for children and the pool is only opened from 10-6 and most of the time we have been here it doesn't even open til after noon! They advertise free wifi but say it's been down since Memorial Day and waiting on a part well if I remember it's 2024 technology can be fixed pretty quickly! This place is a big disappointment and would not recommend it to anyone! The owner needs to update this campground and put new pictures online because it's very deceiving!

Called in advance a reserved a spot for a month and they required full $600 pay to make reservation. Once arriving at check-in (camper not even in spot yet) I informed them my work plans had changed I would only be staying two weeks. Was told they do not refund money, they asked where I was working next and said a hour 20 min drive (one way) wasn’t too bad. Getting to my spot tree limbs hang low, dragging on truck and camper. Once backed in my spot far enough to have camper tongue out of the road I had less than a foot between my camper n the one behind me. Lot had very little gravel and no grass which made for a muddy mess after rain. Constantly smelled sewage everyday all day. Water is brown and stinks, and residents don’t maintain their sites well, making for a cluttered dirty view. Picture is with slides in.

Stayed 2 nights in pull through B6 EWS. Nice level spot. They were nice enough to cover and heat tape spigots for the first night due to freezing temps. Bathrooms and showers were very clean. Quiet and peaceful. Grounds well maintained. Some full-timers and local workers. All staff interacted with were nice. Would have stayed a couple extra days but they were booked-up. Rates and campground are better than some of the name brands we have stayed at. Will definitely stay here again!

Arrived 4/12/25 at site A-4 to find sewage containing toilet paper and "human waste" laying around the sewage hookup. Reported the mess on 4/13/25 and on 4/15/25 when we decided to leave, the sewage remained on the ground. We full time RV and have stopped here many times during our travels. We can vouch for most of the reviews.... this campground is running down hill the past 6 years. Shame. John
