Springfield / Route 66 KOA Holiday Introduce

Discover Your Next Missouri Adventure at Springfield / Route 66 KOA Holiday

For Missouri residents and travelers exploring the heartland, finding a clean, convenient, and feature-rich campground is essential to a great getaway. The Springfield / Route 66 KOA Holiday in southwest Missouri provides exactly that—a consistently well-kept destination that serves as the perfect basecamp for enjoying the vibrant city of Springfield and the natural beauty of the surrounding Ozarks region. This is more than just a quick stopover; it’s a family-friendly resort atmosphere that makes camping effortless and fun.

The campground’s name itself highlights its prime location: situated directly on the historic corridor of Route 66. This heritage adds a nostalgic charm, making it a favorite for RV and auto enthusiasts tracing the legendary "Mother Road." But its appeal is far broader, offering a retreat-like setting with a level of maintenance and service that many customers have likened to a "theme park" in its commitment to cleanliness. With accommodations ranging from spacious RV spots to cozy cabins and traditional tent sites, the Springfield / Route 66 KOA Holiday is equipped to welcome all types of campers into its polished and well-managed grounds. The consistent presence of friendly and helpful hosts ensures a welcoming environment, reflecting the famed Missouri hospitality.

It is, however, important for potential guests to be aware of a specific local characteristic: the campground is located near active railroad tracks. While many long-time RVers report that modern RV insulation and the general ambiance mitigate the noise, and some are even train enthusiasts, others have noted that the regular train traffic, including whistling, is frequent and noticeable. Campers are advised to consider this when booking, especially those who prefer absolute silence at night, though the overwhelmingly positive reviews about the park's quality suggest it’s a minor trade-off for the exceptional service and location.

Location and Accessibility

The Springfield / Route 66 KOA Holiday boasts an exceptionally convenient location for both travelers on a cross-country journey and Missouri locals looking for a regional weekend escape. It is situated just off Interstate 44 (I-44), the major East-West corridor through southwest Missouri, making arrivals and departures straightforward and minimizing drive time from the freeway. Furthermore, its proximity to Springfield means campers are only a short drive away from all the amenities, attractions, and services of one of Missouri’s largest cities, often referred to as the 'Queen City of the Ozarks.'

The official address is: 5775 W Farm Rd 140, Springfield, MO 65802, USA. This address places the park slightly west of the main city limits, providing a quieter atmosphere than a downtown location while maintaining quick access to key destinations. Local users will appreciate the effortless drive to nearby attractions such as the iconic Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World, the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum & Aquarium, and the countless antique and specialty shops that thrive in this part of Missouri. Golf enthusiasts will also be pleased to know the campground is adjacent to the Deer Lake Golf Course.

Very neat and clean friendly and helpful hosts, however you are right next to the railroad tracks. Didn't get much sleep with trains blowing whistles and rv vibrating and whistles blaring every 30 minutes! Otherwise, a very well kept KOA. Easy to get to as well.

Park is kept like....a theme park! Clean, constant maintenence. We didn't mind the regular train traffic but you might if you camp in the open or leave your RV windows open. Not a problem for us, though. The store will quickly deliver, to your site, fire wood, pizza, etc purchased in the convenience store...Great swimming pool and playgrounds. Well done bath/shower buildings...One of the best KOA sites we've found.

Very very welcoming! The gentleman who guided me to my site was outstanding, an older man if i may say so. I said lovely place you have here, he replied “only nice now you’re here now” what a lovely compliment to get! lovely location! Pizza so good! Theres a train track beside the campsite too, kinda hidden (by bushes and trees) but if your a train lover this your place to stay! Past right by! 110% recommend!

So this place sets in front of a railroad track and at a crossing. So the trains blow their horns every time they come through day or night. When they aren’t coming through a plane is about to land on top of us as we are very close to the airport. Now with that said this is a very well kept and clean facility. Very nice people. They do not offer military discount like most KOA’s . But do have several small fenced in area to allow the dogs to stretch there legs. And most of the spots are shaded.

A medium size park with very nice grounds, plenty of tree cover, lush grass and two Kamp K9s. The is an additional small dog play area for the deluxe sites. The bathhouse is clean and private. Their pizza is tasty. Pool is nice and staff is very helpful. Not much road most but the is an occasional train. To me it doesn't feel like an RV trip without trains
