Customer Reviews
My husband and I traveled with a friend for a short vacation. We were given a tiny room for 2 people. For the same price, my friend's room was twice the size of ours. I expected a much larger room than the one we were given, especially for the price we paid. Room layout is very odd. Bathroom is large but little space to put one's toiletries. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Room came with mini fridge, microwave and desk space for anyone needing to work. Breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs made from powdered eggs (unappetizing), pork sausage, yogurt, bagels, bread, waffles, oatmeal, bananas and apples. Coffee, juices and milk available. Breakfast items were not up to my standard for what I expected from a Marriott hotel. For return visits, we will choose another hotel. You get one chance to make a good first impression, and this hotel blew it.
The location of the hotel was great for all our adventures: close to USS Yorktown, access point to Fort Sumter,Shem Creek and short drive to Charleston and/ or Sullivan Island. The area felt safe. There are many restaurant in close proximity. The hotel itself is fine for anyone not expecting much luxury or amenities. The room with the extra sitting area was comfortable for our family of 4. Yes,the couch had a few spots and could be replaced with a new one. Also some of the bedding had some spots. But it wasn't to bad. The room was clean, but freezing when entering. Everyone we encountered was friendly and welcoming. Would stay again.
The room was nice and clean. The staff were very friendly. They provided a breakfast buffet with eggs, sausage, oatmeal, grits, fruit, muffins, make your own waffle, bagels, toast, etc.. They have a gym, I did not use it, so I don’t have a recommendation.
The room is clean and we over look the bridge. Our fridge doesn’t work, so they will come tomorrow to fix it. The common area is nice to sit outside at. I found a large bug in our sheets when I made them. I had the bedding changed. I then found an another roach on the wall. The sink doesn’t drain. The staff have been very friendly and willing to fix anything we need. I just hate to have to ask.
Service was good and rooms were clean. However, the lobby area could use a few more comfortable places to sit. The whole area is tables, which is great for breakfast. But it would be nice to have some couches or comfortable chairs to chat and have drinks at later. Rooms were clean. Beds seemed fairly comfortable. However, they have a dampness problem. And that problem worries me they have a mildew problem. The room was set to 64 degrees when we got there. I love a cold room but thats a tad too chilly. I turned it up a few and realized why. It get damp and starts smelling it too. So I kept it on Ice box mode. I had to wash a pair of short and they stayed wet for 2 days hanging on the rack. I’m not saying I wouldn’t stay here again, but I would look somewhere else first. So much potential.
