St. Ignace / Mackinac Island KOA Holiday

Well kept grounds, hot showers, great staff. We stayed for 4 nights. This campground is close to lots of things fun. We used it as base camp for trips to Canada, Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum, Mackinac Island(discount tickets at the office with free shuttle to the ferry). We enjoyed our stay!

Campground was nice and clean. Our site was very nice and spacious (79) but would be difficult to get leveled with a larger camper with multiple slides. Bathrooms/showers were clean and nice. Campground seemed to be kept up with and the other campers were friendly. It was very easy to text for assistance and the campground was good about sending out texts about events while we were there.

The hosts were so accommodating and the campgrounds are very well kept. The children's area could use a little updating, but otherwise it was wonderful and our kids enjoyed it all the same!

Pleasant location not far from the bridge and highway. Great staff. We stayed in a deluxe cabin that had everything we needed in the kitchen for lazy morning breakfasts. I felt so much at peace. Outdoor family games are available by the office. You can buy discounted tickets for Shepler's Ferry to Mackinac Island. Not essential, but l was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the linens, cups, plates and curtains were delightfully color and pattern coordinated. This KOA is pet friendly, so l'm bringing Teddi with me next time. There's actually a little fenced- in doggy play area. Very pleased....

**Review for St. Ignace KOA: Mixed Experience, but Fantastic Staff** We recently stayed at the St. Ignace KOA in Michigan, and while our experience had its ups and downs, the standout feature was definitely the incredible staff. First and foremost, a big shoutout to Rhonda at the front desk! From the moment we walked in, she was nothing but professional, kind, and informative. Rhonda took the time to explain the KOA benefits to us, and no matter what we needed, she was always there to help without making us feel like an inconvenience. I even sent my husband to see Rhonda when he went to pick up some KOA t-shirts because I knew she'd take good care of him. Another highlight was Angie, who organized the tie-dye activity. She was super friendly and made sure everyone, even those who had never done it before, had a great time. Angie had everything set up perfectly and went above and beyond to make the activity extra fun with her exceptional personality. Steve was another favorite during our stay. My husband especially appreciated his friendly demeanor and helpfulness. Whether we needed assistance or advice on local activities, sites, and restaurants, Steve was always ready with a smile and some great tips. People like him really make your trip memorable. However, we were disappointed by a few aspects of the campground. There weren’t many activities, and we especially missed having a pool. It also didn’t seem very kid-friendly. The miniature golf course, in particular, needs some serious work—there were spots where the grass was bubbled up, making it impossible to play straight, and other areas were so worn out that it was down to the wood. This made it tough to enjoy. Another small gripe was the trash situation. We’re used to having our trash picked up at our campsite by 5:00 p.m., but at this KOA, we had to take it to a big trash bin ourselves. While it’s not a huge deal, it’s a nice touch that we missed. Overall, while the campground itself could use some improvements, the amazing staff at St. Ignace KOA, particularly Rhonda, Angie, and Steve, made our stay much more enjoyable. Their friendliness, helpfulness, and professionalism were the highlights of our trip.

Stayed in our camper, staff was super accommodating and friendly. They even allowed us to switch sites when we arrived to an area that was less crowded (we were early in the season) and the space was available. Firewood was delivered promptly, the space was clean, it was SUPER QUIET, and my only regret was not getting a site that had the concrete patio pad because those spots have a nice bit of space behind them which is great if you have dogs. The only downside to this site, and this is really a note for potential future improvement, would be a bigger dog park so larger breeds can truly run their energy out. The dog park is a tad on the small side, but otherwise, a great stay at this KOA.

We were Camping and our other party stayed in a Cabin. The park was clean, the restrooms were clean. They do fun activities with the kids on the weekend. Would recommend staying there if your headed to the Island, very close to downtown St. Ignace.

VERY nice campground!! The patio sites are extra awesome! So great to have a charcoal grill! Lots of dog space! Excellent laundry facilities! Rhonda, Olivia and the guys were super accommodating! We WILL be back!!!!

A very nice campground. I stayed here in October 2024 during my fall foliage trip to the UP. Like every KOA, the grounds are nice and clean, especially the bathrooms. The laundry room has good WiFi. Hosts were very friendly and allowed me to check in remotely knowing I would be a late arrival. I will be returning in June when I (finally) will make the boat ride from St. Ignace to Mackinac (and bring back plenty of fudge for friends and family). Highly recommended to anyone who visits St. Ignace, including you trolls brave enough to venture to this side of da bridge!

Me and my sister have stayed here two years in a row and plan to come back, pam made us some wonderful pizzas, rhonda set us up very nicely with our site, and josh so kindly delivered us some fire wood to our camp. We have loved staying here, eveyone has made it feel like home. We where so exited to come back!
