Amazing nature abounds. The park was closed for over five years after hurricane Michael and has recently reopened. The campground is brand new including the bath houses. I’m not sure what it looks like before the storm, but there are not many trees in the camping area. There’s a nice nature trail that leaves from the campground through the dunes and along the bay. there’s fishing opportunities everywhere. They also have cabins right on the bay that rent for about $100 a night, which is a good deal. We visited in December, which is the off-season for the area and it was very quiet. Highly recommend this campground.
Winter camping along the Gulf. Happen to find this gem, freshly rebuilt after a hurricane while I was looking for a spot to stay and avoid the polar air coming down. The upkeep in this campground is the best I have ever seen in my travels.
Beautiful stay, beautiful beach. Campground clean and updated. Huge campsites, great deal. Thank you for all you do, employees and volunteers!
Miles of beach, tons of wildlife, friendly rangers, and nicely spaced and roomy campsites!
For small campers or campervans, perfect. Some sites will hold a larger RV, but it can't be fun when one is trying to cram their RV into one of the smaller sites. Electric/water on site and dump on the way out. Super close to the beach and quiet this time of the year even though full. Bathrooms and showers are good, and clean. Don't mind the closeness of the other campers. Folks are courteous and pick up after their pets. No complaints and quite idyllic.
