Gorgeous park, plenty of space for big rigs, and the sites are big enough to allow space between you and your neighbor. There are lots of great paths to walk dogs. Some of the spaces on the front side of the park are pretty noisy with Rt 66 and an active train track within a few feet. The back of the park is quiet, though. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This location is convenient to St. Louis, Six Flags, and Purina Farms.
Stayed here with my family for a night. We stayed in the caboose which is something we had wanted to do for a long time and it was really fun. The caboose could use a little renovation and maintenance but was still super cool. Overall a nice koa.
Is this place convenient? Yes. The small cabins were reasonably priced for what you get. But do not let this fool you. The management and owner of this place do not care about their business. We had a terrible accident at this campground over the summer where a tree crushed and totaled our camper van, thankfully none of our family was harmed. KOA immediately wiped their hands of this telling us they have nothing to do with it and we needed to deal with our insurance. They did not even feel the need to refund our stay. I would NEVER stay here again and suggest if you do, hopefully you have really good insurance.
Overall the campground is nice and has a lot of amenities. The employees were friendly and the area is pretty. It is near the highway so there is constant noise from that. It is also near the train tracks. The WIFI is not good. The laundry room has 6 washers and 1 is broken. There are only 3 dryers and one of them wouldn't add time so the most you could dry was 6 minutes at a time. The laundry room needs a deep clean and updated. In our opinion it is overpriced (like most KOAs are). The campground we moved to now is 1/2 the cost and the amenities are in better shape.
Arrived with good directions via Google GPS and KOA app.The staff was friendly at check in. Nice camping store. Received emails at arrival and throughout our stay. Stayed in site 16A. Easy-in and out, there was an incline at back of site. Sites close together. There was a Fire ring and picnic table but we didn’t use. Probably wouldn’t have enjoyed it much because of the interstate and train noise. It didn’t bother my husband inside, but I had to turn on AC to sleep. Appreciated the dog stations with mutt mitts. Convenient to St Louis and a good stop for overnight.
