Everything was going great until checkout. We got up a little late, so had the campsite cleaned up by 12. We had then planned to use the shower facilities, fish on the dock, and then head out. Staff drove their golf cart down and said it us “checkout is at 11, the GM told me to drive down here and tell you that if you are not on the property we are going to call the Sheriff and have you escorted off the property because you are now trespassing.”. WOW!!! Where does it say in the reservation or any of the material you give us at check in that if we aren’t off the property by 11 we will be trespassed. Some type of hospitality feel at home campsite this place runs. Will not be back. Rude as hell staff. They didn’t even have anyone else checking in to our campsite either. Glad only spent 1 night and didn’t waste any more money. Go somewhere else where they actually appreciate their guests. The people who pay their bills and keep the place running. No customers, no site.
Paid $700 for 2 nights in a cabin. Had to run the shower for over 30 minutes just to get hot water. Paid $140 extra a night for a bathroom. Supervisor is really rude. We were ready to let go of the fact that our site was bad (didn’t even feel like camping) next to all the bathrooms, trash, power lines, no trees, entrance, and you can basically reach out and touch the cabin next to you in every site. The windows in our cabin wouldn’t lock. Took a hour to get a window to lock. There’s 0 activities for kids, and everything is falling apart. They charge premium prices even though they had a lot of hurricane damage. Playground is gone. Fishing Dock is broken. No normal adult pedal bikes. Only $60 for a day electric bikes. Had fun with our family but no way will we stay here ever again. General store staff was really nice and so were other campers. That was only positive.
Near Pinellas Trail for biking. Good for kids. Staff is very good. Some sites are not workable for bigger RVs. If you have a bigger RV, discuss the site in advance with registration. Pretty views of the bay.
The location is perfect - many things to see and go to - Johns Pass is only one of them. There's Treasure Island and the Gulf Beaches. This KOA Kampground is renovating all sites that were affected by hurricanes - the new water sites are beautiful with paver patios and patio furniture instead of picnic table. The staff is amazing and helpful - special shout out to Brooklyn and Sandy whom I enjoyed everyday I went to the office thanks guys !
We've stayed here going into our 3rd year. Tried to get a 5/7 and finally did we were put on the worst site in the park the staff is rude except for a few. The manager Lori doesn't seem to care at all about taking care of everyone except her favorites. We spent a lot of money our first 2 years and expected to be treated a little better. Other people I have talked to have the same complaint.
