WONT RECOMMEND FOR SURE. To be honest, it's a 1 star, 1. Nasty restroom, really horrible 2. Only thing to give 2 star is because of the jungle and greenery 3. Steam mills got only 1 restroom 4. far from the office (~9miles), and so remember to get enough wood for fire 5. Restroom got no bathroom 6. Water supplies is too far for some sites Booked for 2 nights, but because of horrible restrooms, had to cut short the plan to 1 night and left on day 2 morning.
Great spot for deep woods camping. Bad reviews are strange since the amenities or lack thereof are clearly listed on their website, and they have other campgrounds with more amenities if you prefer that.
No electrical, office is an hour away from the site. No fire wood nearby. No soap or sanitizer or toilet paper or paper towel in the bathrooms. Water isn't near the bathroom for easy hand washing. There are no convenient trash cans so be prepared to fill your vehicle. They charge extra if you don't live in NJ. I've gone to drive through campsites with more amenities.
Was there during the week, very few other campers. Definitely bears for neighbors 🐻, so be prepared. I enjoyed the peaceful solitude of my stay here. Came back day before labor day, each site was filled but was still pretty peaceful. Sites are far enough away from one another that you aren't in the middle of your neighbor's conversation. Even better though was by the afternoon on labor day I had the place mostly to myself. I think I've only noticed one other occupied campsite. Super peaceful! Although I'm shocked at how many people stop at the spring, almost nonstop all day each day I've been here.
It's a very beautiful spot. Lots of wildlife to be seen!
