Steel Wheel Campground & Trading Post

I can't say enough great things about the Steel Wheel. Their team goes above and beyond to be more than accommodating and are some of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting. I haven't had the need to camp due to having a vacation home nearby. However, I've spent a lot of time in the gas station itself enjoying good hot food and beverages. They also throw a super bowl party and seasonal fish frys. If you're looking for a great spot run by great people, the Steel Wheel is it!

Absolutely loved this experience! We had a long toy hauler and our children rented the cabin with the bunk beds. Everyone had a great experience the cabin was clean and very user friendly. Their convenience store is very good and the help were nice and friendly. The pond that they have was so fun for our grandchildren. They played on the beach and used the paddle boats Thank you for a great area to vacation!

This campground is amazing! I cannot imagine coming back to this area and not staying here. It is centrally located to all the fun sites and attractions. The lodge is so spacious and somehow super cozy at the same time! The trading post on-site has everything you need and more! I definitely recommend spending your vacation here! You won't be disappointed!!!

They were the nicest people at that gas station 😎 I would suggest stopping in and saying hello that Whispering Graphite told you to stop in because of the great atmosphere and friendly faces right between Deadwood/Lead head on that hywy in SD "Whispering Graphite "

We just visited the store. Great selection of items, black hills trails passes are available here.

Service is awesome except when one girl is working. She's more interested in her phone. Locals talk and know who I'm talking about.

Great little camping area with a few very close trails to ride!

We went to the Easter egg hunt here today and it is a very well kept campground
