If you hope to get any privacy, go somewhere else. Rented the medium size cabin for 3 days, it worked, but wasn't as comfortable as i had hoped it would be. There is no room between sites. So there didn't feel like there was much privacy. You can hear everything going on outside and from outside you can hear everything whispered in the cabin. It's got the smallest shower with the smallest water heater. Warm shower only for 8 min. So I guess you have to only turn the water on when you rinse. Oh, and the smell, taste and feeling the water leaves on your skin is disgusting. We couldn't drink the water. They said they have their well chlorine treated but it does not smell like chlorine. It smells like swamp. And tastes awful. The bathroom stinks so bad from the toilet water I had to burn incense the whole time we were here to even bare to be in it. Thankfully we weren't here to spend time in the cabin. So we weren't there much. But it was more comfortable than tent camping. But for the price, next time I think I'll go to a hotel or something closer to the beach. Because for what it was, I don't believe it was worth the money.
Wonderful location, extremely clean. We rented a “medium cabin” as that has a full bathroom and it was fantastic. Local to the Sterling Ren Fair and Fair Haven beach. Staff had firewood and ice on hand which was extremely convenient.
We stayed at the Sterling Creek Campground from July 5th(afternoon)- July 8th(AM). The folks that run the place were very friendly and accommodating when needed. We stayed in a small cabin with a full sized bed(you need to bring your own linens), rather small when you're used to a queen, but it beats sleeping on the floor. It was surprisingly comfortable. There is also a twin size mattress under the bed for another person. It would've been nicer with a ceiling fan or a box fan, luckily we brought our own, so it wasn't too stuffy. There are 3 windows which can be opened to help circulate the air. The cabin has a small fridge/freezer, microwave and coffee maker (bring your own coffee/creamer/sugar). Outside has a nice area for a fire (the office sells wood, ice and other smaller things, it's not a general store) with a fireplace and picnic tables. There is an RV very close on the one side, so you will have neighbors, most likely. You can use the bath house to do your business or take a shower. Be sure to bring quarters for the shower. It costs $1 for about 5 mins. I personally think a timer without having to pay is a better option. If the pay option remains, I would explore one that takes cash or debit. The campground is pet friendly, but dogs aren't allowed in the cabin, so plan accordingly. All-in-all a good trip. We would use this campground again, if needed.
I met the owners today and they are great! They are making so many positive changes to this family friendly campground near Sterling Renaissance Festival. I can't wait for my next trip up here with my kids to visit the campground in my travel trailer.
The cabin we stayed in was very nice with all that we needed. It was clean and cute. The only problem were the mattresses, neither were comfortable if you have any type back problem or pain. The woman we checked in with, I believe the owner, was very friendly, kind and helpful!
