Great state park. I stayed in the campground for 2 nights, and we enjoyed the hiking loopsthe first day we did the stone mountain loop in like 3 hrs, of course making some stops to enjoy the view, and in the afternoon around 5 pm we went to Wolf Rock and we trip with a mama bear 🐻 and her little cub, kind of scary but they walked away 😀. Great place recommended.
Great trails, especially in the Fall. The trail to the falls have stairs (quite a lot), so you should plan accordingly. There are a couple of spots to stop and have lunch but the best is the summit of Stone Mountain. It can be crowed in the Fall, but usually not too bad.
Bathrooms are well maintained, Tent sites are in are open space so finding tree shade in summer could be challenging. Common parking only. Our site was more than 100meters away from parking and it took us more than 2-3 trips to carry stuff to and from our cars to the site.
Hiked Sharp Top Mountain. The views are incredible. Well worth the hike. It's above medium difficulty to hike to the top.
Start at the Upper Trail Head for an unexpected surprise! 🤗
