Stoney Creek Inn Galena

Karen at the front desk is a gem!! this is the third time I've been here and absolutely love it, and my husband stays here when he comes to Galena for hunting. We will never stay any place else. It is clean, warm, comforting, and the loveliest people you have working here someone has done a fantastic job with everything love the pool and hot tub also. It always is a mini vacation every time we are here, I know that I said this before, but we love it here. We are so impressed. We bring our neighbors here too.

Yes, the location is away from the quaint, historical part of town, but it's very convenient to US-20 and close to gas and groceries. Room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. (Jacuzzi Suite) Cabin/Woods theming throughout property is fun, not fancy, and we got a kick out of it. Service from front desk to bar to breakfast room was excellent. Only cons - 1) the suite had a shower stall in the bathroom which was a bit small/tight given the overall size of the room, and 2) the facility is poorly insulated for sound - it sounded like the occupants of the room above us were tap dancing, but they thankfully turned in early!

This was our second stay at Stoney Creek this year. We like the location because it Is only minutes from the downtown area by car. We have been very happy with the accommodations. The rooms have been clean uncomfortable. We find that the cost of the room to fits our budget. We enjoy the rustic lodge atmosphere of this hotel the staff is always friendly and very helpful. The breakfast that is included is good and we also like the little in-house bar/snack bar that they have. We can enjoy a beverage there in the evening and usually end up playing some of the games that they have available for guests. At that little bar, you can get alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks and snacks such as ice cream and frozen pizza which we found to be very good. Stoney Creek will be our go to hotel on all our future visits to Galena.

Teresa, Colton, and Kara have been the most amazing staff ever. They took my bad situation and made this such an enjoyable experience. They’ve shown kindness and compassion. They been curious, responsive, and attentive. I’m very thankful for them. John has been accommodating and understanding and has displayed an impressive professionalism. The hotel is pet friendly, clean, the kids enjoy the pool, hot tub, and the yummy breakfast. If I had to choose to stay somewhere, I’d choose here over and over again.

We are on a family vacation to Galena we rented a house but had to stay one night in a hotel. When we reached the hotel everything was very nice from the front desk to the hotel room. We put out stuff in the room and of course my daughter wanted to go swimming. My 78 year old mom with memory problems laid down to take a nap. Before getting back to the room she had left the room. The front desk had made contact with her gave her ice cream and a pop. Not sure how many people have to deal with taking care of elderly parents. But the kindness that the staff showed not just the integrity of the hotel but the staff they have working. There which means they will go above and beyond for their guests. Much appreciated!
