Many thanks to the staff at Strathcona Lodge for a wonderful few days enjoying the area. The staff are hardworking, friendly and knowledgeable. We found the food tasty with enough variety to meet everyone’s needs. The daily adventures were well run and gave me the opportunity to do things I never would have considered before. If you are looking for an air conditioned, hotel-type stay this is not for you but if you are looking to disconnect from daily distractions and reconnect to your surroundings as well as family and friends, this lodge will not disappoint.

Can't recommend SPL enough. Stunning location and a great place to take a break from the rest of the world (there's WiFi at the reception area if you really need it, but I suggest going without). We stayed in one of the newer/renovated cabins, and they're simply fantastic. The food is delicious and all staff are professional and quick to respond to any issue you may have. Strongly considering to make it a tradition to come back every year :)

The location was brilliant. Stunning view of the lake and mountains. Very easy to find and loads of parking. Very easy and available boat rental. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. There was a good variety of food options, particularly for people with dietary requirements. However the food quality was mid and dinner was mind blowingly over priced. We had booked a room overlooking the lake which was beautiful, but we couldn’t enjoy it properly because the sun shines through into the room (adding to the views beauty) from around midday until it sets making it absolutely swelteringly hot. There is no air con (understandable) and no fan in the room and it was borderline unbearable to try and go to sleep in that sauna. This might have been more palatable if there had been a fly screen on the balcony door, but unfortunately there wasn’t so you either get eaten alive or sleep in a hot box.

I had a great stay here as a kid. But because their records do not include me, I was rejected for consideration in having my wedding here because I am an "outsider". Edit: nice try, but I actually inquired this past winter for a wedding two years away. I was dismissed immediately specifically because (you assumed) I had not stayed at your lodge before.

Meals at the lodge are extremely poor value. I have made a formal complaint. I would not recommend returning until they reform/review their restaurant buffet offerings. Our first night was a pasta dinner buffet that was at least serviceable, if overpriced. The second night however, was called "stir fry" night and featured just - one - stir fried hot item (very tough beef chunks, I think they used a stew meat cut). The remainder of the meal was a cabbage slaw, lettuce salad, plain rice, tofu, miso soup. Plus a mini cheesecake and fruit for dessert. That's it for your $40 plus tax and tip. Next time we will stay elsewhere. It is not worth saving the 30 minutes of driving from CR to be closer to Strathcona park trails.
