Stubblefield is a great place for those fanatics of camping. The sites are spacious with BBQ grill, picnic table and a nice sand pad to set up your tent. Park fee is 15.00. There are many trails that are easily accessible. Restrooms are well kept. Plenty of fresh air and nature to enjoy. Also, dont forget to pack a fishing rod and tackle. Whatever activity you decide to do this is just the right mixed of everything
Stayed 1 night here while hiking the Lone Star Hiking Trail. The campsites are well laid out for a small campground. The campsites have designated tent areas, fire rings, picnic tables, and water. There's bathrooms with showers available for use. The hosts were super nice and helpful. Loved the views of the water from my tent. Would definitely stay here again.
Great campgrounds. Great people. Will definitely be back!
Park area was great. But the host was horrible. He would go around the sites all the way up to midnight. He was yelling, and causing a rukus. I understand managing the park is required, but disturbing multiple campsites with yelling is not acceptable. He even parked at our site (we were backpacking the LST) and visited one of the campsites with loud talking and laughing, while we were sleeping.
This was a beautiful site, lots of space between campsites, nice trees with fall leaves, close to hiking on Lone Star Hiking Trail and we had a great bike ride on country roads with very minimal traffic. The park host was friendly and available. The bathrooms were clean and had wonderful hot showers. When we were there it was mostly hunters, no families with little kids as we usually find in state parks, but that was fine with us.
Camping grounds clean, good camp host, bathrooms fine. Get a good spot and you can catch fish without even leaving your campsite. I have caught some nice 2-3 pound bass here regularly. Also catch crappie good eatin size but the catfish are finicky. Lots of bank fishing and kayak opportunities and also a boat ramp. Its close to hunting and off road areas
