This is a nice place but .. I stayed in one of the cabins. The beds were terrible with large wallowed out holes in the middle of the bed. Also they tell you there is a store . There isn't. My stay was during winter and the heat in the cabins did not work . Also it was very noisy after hours .

This place calls me with this nice offer with 3 free weeks to stay at their campgrounds. They want to give me this presentation. I show up 10 minutes late with my 2 kids on Sunday and they were rude to me about it. I walked out.

This place may be older than I am, but that hasn't dimmed the beauty of this resort.... there's a beautiful little long boardwalk down to the river, and the water is clean and clear and cold in AUGUST. Also, there's an indoor and outdoor pool combo. The indoor is smaller and the walls echo something awful, but the outdoor is quite expansive and has a lovely raised patio and gazebo area. The cabins are like miniature houses, and will sleep up to 8, I think. They have 2 front entries and a back porch, with seating for up to 4 people and a table, in case you want to grill on the other side of the porch. There's a guard on duty most of the time, but there's also a coded-entry gate to prevent vehicular incursion if the guard is away. It's SO quiet, even knowing there are LOTS of people nearby, you can still enjoy the sight of a squirrel on a tree, birds flitting about and singing, and loveliest of all, the sound of crickets singing you to sleep.

Sites are alright, a bit closer together than I'd like, but this was originally built in the 60-70s and rugs were much smaller then. They are doing some renovations and the river access is amazing. Private campground so you either have to be a member or sit through their membership sales pitch. All the member we talked to liked it, however it just didn't fit for my family.

I like all that this area has close by, ATV trails and a very nice shooting range. And it's 70 degrees in December!
