Camp Ground The campgrounds at Sugar Hollow Park are a great value! -The campgrounds are simple. Some have water and power, some just power. -The bathrooms are clean but only have a curtain for privacy in the stalls. -Playgrounds are pretty fun inside the camping area. The surrounding park has loads of fun hikes to explore. There is also a great frisbee golf course near the entrance.
On our drive south, we found this amazing park. There were many places to park for various activities, including a disc golf course. There are camping allowances inside, or closer to the back. You can opt to go in, for $1 (one dollar) to picnic. I highly recommend it. It’s well maintained, with a spring/river to cool your feet on. My little one walked right across. There are benches by the play structure, as well as picnic tables and a BBQ grill. The bathrooms were also just across the way. The park also has some wetlands with snappy turtles, which is closer to the disc golf course than where we were. The space looks ideal for camping, which costs about $20 ( I think). Lots of trails for walking. And lots of trash cans!
Although not far from Interstate 81 it was a very quiet and I am peaceful Campground. Kept very clean. My lab enjoyed all the trails and the water she could dive into during our morning and evening hikes. Nice trail system throughout the park. Walk to your heart's content. Thanks for having such a nice accommodating County Park.
We stayed for 1 night and at $20/night you can’t beat it! Our hose was too short for the water hookup (which is shared), so we had to use our tank, but other than that everything was great. The water was clean and the site was in a quiet, secluded area. Make sure you arrive before 8PM, as they don’t check anyone in after that. The staff was nice as well. They’re dog friendly, though it looked like all of the sites were dirt/leaves, so we had to take our golden to the park to go potty. The campground is close to a lot of restaurants and entertainment (bowling alley and movie theatre), and the park that’s next door is beautiful! We will be back.
We were traveling through and had a picnic at this spot. Which was peaceful and super helpful because we have a dog that prefers no other people. I was going to use the bathroom but when I asked someone where it was she said it's not the cleanest as in she doesn't recommend using it, so I didn't.
