Great spot for a hike around the lake. You have great views of Mount Lassen from the back side of the lake. There is parking available for day use and the trail is pretty easy.
We'd only been in Canada a week from Australia and we were absolutely in awe of this location. The lake was absolutely beautiful at sunset and at sunrise. The autumn colors surrounded the lake and we even saw a bald eagle. Our host. Marilyn was like part of our family for the time we spent there she couldn't have looked after us better. The campsite was so clean and so neat, we just didn't want to leave Thank you Carolyn for a wonderful time The cabins look great for next time
Nice campsite, fairly close to the beautiful summit lake. You get awesome views of the lake if you take a full round around it.
Camped at both North and South campground. South was very nice, pretty shaded, and quieter in my opinion. We stayed right next to the lake and it was amazing. Our site was fairly sloped though and not the best for tenting. North was much flatter but we were back a bit from the lake. All sites have fire rings and you can collect downed wood for fires which beats paying $11 for a box at the camp store. No electric, only water spigots around the campground. Worked out pretty good though.
