Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach

I had high expectations when booking a stay at Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach, particularly after a wonderful experience there in December 2023. The property, staff, accommodations, and cleanliness during that visit were impressive, which led me to eagerly book an upgraded cottage with a fireplace on the front porch and an additional night for our return. However, upon arrival at the cottage, I was disappointed by the condition of the property. While the cottage appeared tidy at first glance, it was evident that a deep cleaning had not been performed. There were noticeable issues such as dirty door jambs both inside and outside, unwashed floors, crooked toilet seats, and broken slats in the window shades. I found it necessary to purchase cleaning supplies myself to ensure the environment was clean for my family. The outdoor furniture was equally unsatisfactory, covered in stains and in poor condition, much like the interior. While the grounds were generally well-maintained, the holiday decorations appeared worn and faded, showing signs of neglect. It’s understandable that cottages experience high turnover during peak seasons, but during the off-season, it would be reasonable to expect that maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep would be prioritized to ensure a higher standard. Given the premium rate for this stay, I expected much more in terms of cleanliness and maintenance, and I left feeling disappointed that my experience did not reflect the value I had anticipated. I sincerely hope Sun Outdoors can address these issues for future guests.

Beyond disappointed!!! I certainly would not recommend to anyone, not even my enemies. The staff were rude and always seemed bothered when asked a question. And don’t try to call, no one answers the damn phone. The rangers are downright nasty. Planned to stay for a year in one of their annual sites; one decision I totally regret. Sadly, a family emergency up north ended our lease. Only there for 9 days of the month, yet charged the entire month, plus a $250 early termination fee oh and on top of that electric for those 9 days. Talk about scam for money!! No wonder so many annual site campers are leaving or have already left. This is one spot I will not got back to ever again. I guess they don’t put their family first!!!

Definitely not the Carolina pines we once all knew. Some staff members are rude like you are nothing to them. Moving peoples property out of overflow without permission and moving to the rear of the campground. (Trailers) as listed to park there by (Park rules) Price gouging guests to come in the park for a few hours or day. 3 people to enter to see us for a few hours had to pay over 45 dollars. Not to mention it’s not even prime season? Bath houses need to be cleaned and properly maintained. From the overall new owners it’s all turned to greediness. Wish they could get this resolved bc they have already lost a lot of guest that used to love coming to (Carolina Pines). Sun outdoors I’m looking forward to having my stays elsewhere that actually care and accommodate the guest in the best professional manner with well mannered staff. Who Care about people and personal property!

Every staff person that we dealt with was very helpful and friendly. Began with the check-in process and being led to our site. The cleanliness and maintenance of the sites and park are outstanding. Love the water park and music playing over the speakers. Carolina Common has an awesome area to sit relax, listen to the music, and enjoy the outdoor atmosphere, even in the rain. Also, the dog parks are perfect, and the dog wash is another great plus. Laundry mat nicely set up with comfort station to relax. There is too much to mention. Plenty of pools and areas for the kids and adults to play and socialize. My only disappointment was that this was our first time here, and it rained every day except the day we were leaving. Oh, and rented a golf cart we barely used because of the pouring 🌧. But we still had fun and made the best of it. We enjoyed it greatly. We are from the new England area and would love to get together for a week for our annual family camping. My kids and grandkids would love ❤️ this place! Thank you to everyone who makes this an awesome and amazing place to vacation!

1st let me say Jodi made everything great for our group. Our family vacation at Sun Outdoors was truly amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the friendly and accommodating staff who made us feel right at home. The cottage was a whole vibe, well-equipped, and provided a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. The golf carts were a hit for our group. The resort offered a wide range of activities that kept everyone entertained. Sun Outdoors exceeded our group expectations in every way, and we can't wait to return for another amazing family getaway.
