Sun Outdoors Sugarloaf Key

I'm so disappointed with our experience here. We called and left a message at the resort the day before our arrival to see if we could come a day early, but we didn’t get a reply until the next day. When they called, they apologized for the delay and explained that their entire cleaning staff had called out, so they had to clean each room themselves. We understood and stuck to our regular check-in time. When we arrived, our room was very dirty. There was a half-used roll of toilet paper left on the holder, used pads in the bathroom trash can, ants everywhere, the lights under the bed didn’t work, the couches were too gross to sit on, and random items were left behind by the previous guests. We were disappointed, to say the least, but we cleaned up as best we could and made do. Today, more than 24 hours after check-out, they called to tell us there was a cleaning fee added to our account. They said there was “damage” from our dogs to the room and that the couch was stained. This is egregious. They sent us photos of the “damage” and “dirty couch,” none of which was done by us. We are very upset and hope that they clear up this issue as soon as possible.

Had a great one week stay in one of the bungalows! Super cute style and very roomy. Large shower in light filled bathroom. Comfortable king size bed with snow white fresh scent linens. Lovely outdoor spaces with lots of seating options that looked brand new. Our large group of 14 enjoyed the fire pit and cabana areas for leisurely supper time gatherings. Swimming pool was a refreshing place to chill after a day touring the Keys. A quick 30 minute drive to Key West and available public transit bus if you want to party hardy and not have to drive back. Staff super helpful and always ready to assist where needed. Priced really reasonable for all you get and well worth it. Would definitely repeat!

The place is beautiful, the staff is amazing and our fellow campers were friendly!! Great place to visit with a pool and cool waterfront cabanas. 20 minute ride to Key West too. There was a New Years Eve party with live music and a food truck with food and drinks under a huge pavilion with tables, chairs and a fire pit. Very dog friendly and poop stations everywhere. You don’t need to go anywhere just enjoy the tropical oasis right there in sugarloaf key!!!

We LOVED our stay! We had a back in site with full hook ups. The dog park was small, but a great outside option for our pup! The pool was always nice and the hammocks on the dock were a great spot to read. We even got to take paddle boards and kayaks out on the lake! Laundry is now available! $5 a load (wash& dry) Fantastic location to get to Key West without being in the city! Only 25 mins to drive in. We got to watch football at the outdoor patio and meet other great travelers. Can't recommend this location enough.

Facilities are new, and campground is clean and professionally maintained. Staff is wonderful, and went out of their way to help. We extended our stay from a few days to three weeks because we liked it there so much! A+! Thank you!
