We love this place. This year sun retreats undertook many improvements to the park including the pool, boat docks, and other areas. They have come up with a solution to the road dust issues. In General the park has changed to a more family friendly and activity packed place to be. It’s a seasonal only park and is almost at capacity. The fishing is still great and there is always something to do. You would probably have to get on a waiting list to get a spot. The park staff are always friendly and helpful and assist the campers how ever then can. I look forward to many seasons here
This park is wonderful. I have watched it over the years (usually before the park opens) as the manager does everything in her power to make improvements to the park. Day after day. Countless hours are spent making sure the people who camp here have the most pleasurable season. The work that goes into this park is above and beyond expectations. And PS. anyone who complains about minor things is just a negative Nelly.
There was a boil water order in effect while we were camping. The water still tasted funny in our drinks, which was a bit annoying. The septic tank at our site was a little battered and needed covers over the poop portal. There was some smell at the side of the trailer.
This will be our 3rd season at Sun Retreats Hay Bay, and we’ve loved our time here! Super friendly staff, and a well maintained park. There’s always something to do, from bands to bingo nights and euchre, as well as kids crafts and movie nights! Cassandra and her staff are all amazing and a pleasure to camp with! :)
Great little park, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a bit of a view of the lake, from the site, pool was very clean and refreshing, and a nice size playground , washrooms could use an exhaust fan to cool them down a bit and circulate some air but were kept clean and taken care of. I enjoyed my stay but I wouldn't recommend site 126 as its directly in front of the dump station but other than the smell at times, it was a really great stay.
