We visited this campground for the first time last fall and loved it. We chose it because of the Halloween activities that were advertised, and we had a fantastic time. Our kids especially enjoyed all the fun events. The terrain is mountainous, so the driveways are mostly one-way, but that didn't bother us at all. There's a large lake in the middle of the campground, which adds to its charm and attractions. I can imagine this campground being fully booked all the time, and if you're planning to rent a golf cart, be sure to reserve it early!
I used to vacation here yearly 12 years ago when it was “Lake in Wood” and now I'm bringing my toddler to enjoy it. We enjoyed our time so so much. We found the workers to be nice and welcoming. The main playground is great, our kids enjoyed it. I love the clean slides, the soft rubber mulch, the little house for then to play in. But, the house door needs to be repaired, a child could get hurt on the splintered hole. The pool was clean, we went in Sept so we didn't get to enjoy the kiddie pool, we will have to come back in the summer. The laundry room & sitting area was nice and comfy. We stayed in a tent at site O15 and it was really close to site O14. Luckily, we booked both as we had family staying in the other, but if it had only been us, it would have been way to close to strangers. The bathroom near us was clean and often empty, which was nice. I would suggest adding hooks, shelves, or something to put clothes on. Our site location also had noise from the quarry & the race track nearby. It didn't bother us, but it is something to note. It scared us the first night until we knew what it was lol. Our site also had a few critter visitors, including a cat, a skunk, and a raccoon that went on their way when they saw us. Activities could definitely be better. And the rec room should be open at all times in case of rain, cold weather, or hot weather for people to hang out in. All in all, we enjoyed our trip and will be back again whenever we can.
We stayed in the deluxe cabin. It was clean, quiet and private. It comes with a grill but we always bring our own grill anyway. Staff is very friendly and so are the campers. There was plenty to do, pottery paint, laser tag, corn hole, basketball, mini golf, swimming and more. Hot tub was awesome! Wish I knew about this place a long time ago when my kids were little although It’s still a good place for older kids too. Fishing was good and you can catch a lot of fish. My favorite part was how everyone has a golf cart and some really hook them up. At night the families ride through the park with lit up golf carts. It’s really cool. I’m definitely coming back. We’re thinking we want to purchase a seasonal stay for next summer.
Clean place. Beautiful scenery. Good amenities. Pool and splash park complex was great for the kids and adults. Cafe was surprisingly good and well priced. Ice cream was great and super cheap. Good amount of privacy due to being mostly in the forest. Fun to explore and offered a decent hiking trail. Would definitely return. Only complaint is a lot of poison ivy around the cabins and sites. Like alot.
This is a beautiful property. Everything is very well maintained and extremely clean. Scenic setting, and extensive hiking trails. My family enjoyed the pool, playing mini golf, the lake and the many playgrounds. Our park model was very clean, and everything worked. Cable TV, ice cold air, nice kitchen, very comfortable. Will definitely be back.
