Sun Retreats Turkey Point

The staff is incredible, every single one of them. The groundskeeper will absolutely go above and beyond to help in any way possible when approached. The lady in the front will absolutely help with anything she possibly can. She was absolutely one of the most kind and supportive people I’ve met here during my stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool was only closed for a short period of time (I see the reviews saying it was closed quite often) but we were there for months and it wasn’t closed but for a few days for repairs. It was quite nice to unplug and connect with nature instead of being on our devices constantly so the lack of service became less of a concern for us. Although there is WiFi in the front if needed. There is laundry on site which is super convenient as well. The entire community is like a family and I absolutely fell in love with it!

my wife checked out the website and thought sun retreat looked like a nice place. she called the office there and made a reservation for a week stay. she told the woman who took the reservation that we have a very large fifth wheel trailer and was told that that was not a problem and that we could have a choice of 2 sites (open or shaded) we chose shaded. we were told that the office would be closed on the day we were to check in and our paperwork and park map would be outside the office. no problem except that it was a very rainy day and everything was sopping wet. to say the park map is confusing is an understatement. we had trouble navigating through the park with narrow paths, low hanging branches and speed humps every 50 feet( or so it seemed to me). ridiculous amount of speed humps anyway. when we found our site we quickly realized that we could not fit our rig on to it. also was not a full hook up site as we were led to believe. it had one smallish tree that was too low for our rig to get under. so there we were almost to the end of a small winding path without any good way to get turned around. I am a retired trucker and was able to get us out of that situation without damaging anything but many people would not have had the same result. we left and found a more suitable place to go. they had charged my credit card for the full week instead of taking a deposit as most places do. we left a phone message the day we left as well as the next day but were not called back. I also e mailed and did receive a reply saying that the site would certainly hold my rig. ( I would like to see that). I called again at end of next day and was told that she had to check with the manager about any possible refund and that she would let me know. well she never did. so I am pissed because I paid top dollar for a weeks stay in a facility that I could not use. if you have a large rv I recommend avoiding this place.

I'm new to RVing, but this was a very nice camp ground. They had lots of activities, including sports and a dog park. The public washrooms were respectable and included showers. The people were friendly and helpful. One night a live band played for the residences. I'm going back and hope to join in the bingo fun! It was an easy drive to Port Dover/Simcoe.

Place has gone downhill. They don't tell you, but the pool is broken and so is the wifi. They didn't have any firewood either. They are not honest about the available amenities. Did not offer a credit. They should have told us ahead of time so we could cancel if we so chose. The seasonal tenants like to drive their golf carts overloaded thru the transient section all hours of the night playing loud music and making so much noise. One golf cart was driven by a little girl with drunk adult passengers and she almost ran me over. Do not recommend.

Management of this parks does nothing to help those paying seasonal rate. Basically a free for all. Friday and saturdays nights are adults behaving like it is a frat party. Drunk, high and loud. And worst of all management is there so not like they do anything about it. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!!!!!
