We were here before the season starts at the end of April. No other campers. The only people we saw were some turkey hunters. Plus, we saw the sheriff's department and the department of game & fish make a round through. Very quiet despite being close to I90. The sites were easy to back our 5th wheel in. No power, but we have plenty of solar. It is very open - aka no issue getting our batteries full even on a cloudy day. There are 2 water pumps in the campground area - not sure about the horse area. Also, the campground has a vault toilet. This is not a free campground in the off-season camping is $10 per night. We use Verizon, and it was fast enough to stream TV on a rainy afternoon. I had 5 bars of 5G!!!! We did not bother setting our starlink dish up, but it should have worked fine here.

Spent 8 nights at Sundance. Great riding and nice clean camp. Three hydrants with city water. You can see the water tank in one photo. Currently 2 ports potties but FS plans to build solar vault toilet. 5 of the ten sites can be reserved. There are ten horse pens plus some tie up spots. Very nice ADA ramp to mount up. One TH out of camp is narrow and rises about 800 feet in elevation in half mile. It is narrow but not strenuous for horses. Once on summit there are over 60 miles of trails. Many trails are well marked and match the FS paper maps. We spoke to local mountain biker who shared with us some “unmarked” trails - well worth your time to seek out the unmarked trails. They allow you well over 80 miles total. Saw antelope and deer but the area is dry with less than 20 inches of rain a year. Very nice picnic tables and fire rings. With couple hoses you can easily fill you LQ fresh water tank.

We don’t have horses but decided to give it a try. Wow…. Beautiful views and just what we wanted. We were the only campers here, probably because it was during the week. No utilities but if you are self contained it’s no problem. So much better than being packed into an over priced RV park with no privacy.

Located only a few miles off the highway but by the time you get to the campgrounds you'll forget you just got off the road. Stunning campgrounds with plenty of space for animals and weed free hay. Although, be sure to arrive during the day so you don't find out you camped with the animals in the morning!

This was the trip of a lifetime! It was easy to find (even in the dark) and very easy to navigate with a pickup and larger 4 horse trailer. The corrals are solid, our horses drank the water readily, the camping fees reasonable, the bathroom facilitates were very clean, and the mounting block sure came in handy. The views are breath taking and the wildlife abundant. We'll be coming back for sure!
