Well, this was my family and I first time at this campsite and we had at pleasant experience regardless of what the previous post have said about Ed, he wasn't rude toward us. The campsite was clean the bathroom was stocked well with tissue but it could have been serviced it was smelly but hey it's a porta potty...it wasn't dirty. The water was nice it great to be able to walk trails to find places to enjoy quiet moments. 10/10 will return.
Our stay was completely ruined due to the behavior of camp host Katie and Ed. Both are on a major power trip! Multiple times they tried to kick us out of our paid for, reserved site for made up violations. In the end it was clear that her main goal was to get an empty camp site for her family that was coming to stay. They make up rules and regulations on the fly in order to get you to leave. Katie is always drunk (and driving!). There is no reasoning with her nor Ed (also always drunk). You cannot get a word in edgewise with these people and any attempt at justification or defense is met with a threat of removal (which neither of them have the authority to do). She does not like logic and refuses to listen. Camp host Katie terrorized us our entire stay and targeted us unfairly. Completely corrupt. If you want to enjoy your time, do not stay here.
My husband and I have been coming to Sunset Campground for several years and have never had a bad experience until this year. The camp host Katie made it her mission to ruin our camping trip. Katie was extremely erratic and aggressive. She makes up her own rules and falsely accused my husband and I to try and get us kicked out of our site. Her co-part threatened us stating he called the sheriff’s and we needed to leave immediately. However, the cops never showed and Katie and her co-part acted like nothing happened the next day. Obviously they must have been blacked out drunk. Oh, we also heard her get into a screaming match with another campsite. Do not stay here if you want peace and quiet. This camp host needs to be removed immediately. Incredibly unprofessional.
My dogs and I loved it, very clean.
All-around great camping spot, with steel Bear boxes available, a basic restroom, fire pit and picnic tables for each campsite. The lake is close, and you can jet ski or fish or boat or water ski if you like and have the equipment.
