Great spot! Good running water and very clean vault toilets. First come first serve arrived about 9:20 am 6/16 and got to the last tent spot. I’d come at that time or earlier if visiting again
Really beautiful spot. All first-come camping and on the higher end for pricing per night ($29/night, cash or check) but great views and right on the water. Super clean bathrooms, water available, relatively quiet even though you're close to other sites, lots of access points to the water. We had luck finding one final spot on a Friday afternoon in the fall...but I'm sure this place fills up even quicker in the summertime. I'd get here early if you plan on summer camping here!
Really enjoyed our experience camping here. We tent camped at spot 16 which had a path down to the lake. The spot was a little more exposed to wind than some of the other spots but the view of the lake was great. You can watch sailboats on the lake from the beach or the site itself. The area was well taken care of and there is tree coverage which is nice. The bathrooms were pretty well kept for outdoor toilets. Liked that we were close to other places to hike and explore. I recommend a hike at Monarch lake which isn't far, just down the dirt road which was a really nice well maintained dirt road, and visiting Grand Lake. The marina at grand lake was much cheaper to rent kayaks from than the one we found on Lake Granby but the town itself is cute and worth seeing if you want to shop or go out to eat. All in all this campground was a nice retreat and we will likely go back.
This is a very nice camping location with some first come first served spots. Be aware DO NOT buy a 24 hour pass at the pay location immediately after turning off the highway. This is only for day use! You must pay for camping at the site itself. Our spot was just as few feet from the lake and it was very quiet which isn't always the case with camp sites.
This is a beautiful campground, that has one of the best camp hosts we've come across, John! He's a man with a good soul. Very nice and helpful. 😃 Everyone enjoys him! The lake is so peaceful with lots of Osprey nests nearby to observe. The sites are easy enough to level up & are pretty good size & tidy. The town nearby has everything you'd need! City Market, gas, laundry, cannabis & espresso! We would definitely return! 👍
