Sunstrip Campground is nestled along the scenic Clackamas River in Eagle Creek, Oregon, providing a charming destination for campers seeking an outdoor adventure. Part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, Sunstrip offers a unique blend of nature and convenience, ideal for those who appreciate the great outdoors.
Located on Clackamas Hwy, this campground is positioned close to both the river and highway, offering easy access yet maintaining a connection to nature. The site provides basic amenities such as pit toilets and water pumps, though visitors should note that fire pits may be restricted during fire warnings. Despite these limitations, Sunstrip Campground offers a peaceful retreat for those looking to explore Oregon's natural beauty.
The environment at Sunstrip is both serene and vibrant. Campsites are situated near the river, providing opportunities for fishing and enjoying the scenic views. Wildlife enthusiasts can spot diverse flora and fauna while relaxing by the river or taking short hikes in the area. The open spaces allow campers to feel close to nature, yet the proximity to the highway may bring some noise during peak travel times.
Customer feedback highlights both the positive and areas for improvement. Visitors have praised the scenic spots, especially site #4, for its openness and wildlife observation opportunities. However, reviews mention challenges with noise from highway traffic and the need for improved cleanliness on-site. Despite these minor drawbacks, Sunstrip remains a popular choice among campers.
Sunstrip Campground invites you to experience Oregon's natural beauty, whether for a quick overnight stay or an extended adventure. Explore nearby trails and attractions while enjoying the tranquility of the Clackamas River. Don't forget to check fire restrictions before planning your trip!
Stayed in site #4, which, to me has the best light, open space & river access. I enjoyed sitting by the river, watching for wild life. Drawbacks.. no privacy or buffer from highway noise, it goes all night long. Wish the grounds were cleaner (lots of trash all around). Otherwise an enjoyable little place to stay, but there are better campgrounds along the Clackamas river.
The spot we rented was nice, they didn't have the fire pits open cause of fire warning. All spots are next to the river they are also right next to the road. During the day it noisy cause of cars, after 8pm it quiets down. They have chest toilet (i seen cleaner outhouses) and old water pump. I enjoyed my time there, they would get one more star if we where allowed to use fire pit.
Absolutely one of our favorite places to enjoy on the Clackamas River spot # 3 is the best says Lilly the Lama. Good for off season camping also.
Good place to camp. No electricity. Vault toilet that include friendly spiders. Was awesome to have river access at the site.
Pros: - Small campground, not very much noise from other campers. - Large sites. - Easy river access, many sites have open view of the river. Cons: - Could be better cleaned. We noticed random trash around the campground. - No privacy between spaces 5 & 6, our tents were maybe 50 feet apart. -Lots of highway noise!
