Pretty good place to stay, especially for the price! The free breakfast had a lot more options than I expected - muffins, donuts, cereal, bagels, toast, and waffles. The pool is nice and indoors; nothing special about it but still very enjoyable. The building/rooms could use some smaller fixes, but nothing major. Definitely would stay here again and recommend for anyone looking for a fairly priced hotel option!
Came into the area for 2 nights. Just needed somewhere to sleep. At first glance it's OK. Surface clean however, door handles/knobs, light switch or anywhere frequently touched is filthy. The room has an odor like a musty old smoke odor? I bought a candle for the second night. There is a complimentary breakfast that provides make your own waffles, cereal, bagles and toast and a variety of prepackaged processed muffins. Instant coffee and juice. Not all items were well stocked. I stopped at a local fast food for coffee and a quick bite. I didn't expect a lot but I should have spent a few more $. I am far from a germaphobe but this was not a comfortable stay. This is right across from Ferris and all the basics are within a 5 minute drive in case you need to grab Lysol Wipes and a candle. There's a pool. I didn't bother look at it.
Because of miscommunication between Super 8 and Expedia- they are kicking us out of our room while we are in the middle of a hockey tournament. The manager does not care that we are missing part of our sons game because we have to pack. We booked a deluxe suite through Expedia and they double booked the deluxe suite for the night and are forcing us to leave. I am livid. Worst customer service. They even deactivated our room key while we’re trying to pack.
Check in was very easy. Room was super clean. Very close to campus. I wanted to take a swim in the morning but discovered the pool was a little small, so I just let the family in there have their fun. Kids need to swim, right! A bigger pool would have been nice, but I'm not going to factor that into my review. Next time I pass through Big Rapids, I'll definitely try and book here
Normally, I wouldn't leave 5 stars on a hotel that isn't a 5 star.....but.....the guy at the front desk was friendly and welcoming, the rooms were really clean, the bed was actually pretty perfect. I have back problems and had a great night sleep. The price was what hotels should be charging. It was super reasonable. It was in a good location and quiet. I think the owners take pride in their establishment. Would recommend
