Super 8 by Wyndham Plattsburgh

I Specifically asked for a downstairs room close to the door, because I have a terrible back and I can’t walk very far without my back hurting me very bad, so he put me in a room all the way at the end and they don’t even have luggage carts, and even though I am a Wyndham Platinum member, he would not upgrade my room, even put me in a disability room, which he said costs more ??!!! First of all, that’s against the law to have a disability, and be charged more for more convenient room for your health. The location was okay, considering I had to drive 20 miles to get here, The room was okay if you like Wallpaper peeling off the walls. If I ever come to this town again, I promise you I would rather sleep in my van, then stay here again

I recently stayed at this Motel to go to an event in Burlington VT. The rooms were what you would expect. They were clean. What the hotel did have was amazing service at the front desk! They were accommodating and friendly. Asher went above and beyond to help us enjoy our stay. My one disappointment would have been the pool being cold but, we always try to make the best of things so we did spend a few short minutes in the cold water. The price was a bit high but then again a lot of people travel at this time of year to view the leaves. Second year in a row my family has gone to this motel, and for my first time, I can see why. : Close to the highway McDonald’s on the same road Great restaurants 10 minutes away by highway Ferry close by (30 minutes) Gas station in walking distance Dollar Store in walking distance Staff were wonderful. Overall great experience.

Room was clean but bulbs were blown, microwave handle broken off and cold air seeping in window. Asked man at desk to change bulbs, he came to see which ones were blown and never came back. Indoor pool was shut down Breakfast Room was locked...again talked to man at desk...no breakfast. No smoking establishment but reaked of Marijuana in the hallways. Avoid staying there if at all possible.

We travel all over for work and decided to stay here for the night. I travel with my ESA for safety reasons. We looked on this hotels website to see if pets are allowed. It says “pets allowed” in the amenities. We booked the room. When we went to check in the “treat” of a human at the front desk told us they only allow Service animals. If that is all they allow then why does the website say pets allowed? He turned us away. What a disappointment. Thank you for the reminder as to why I never stay at Super 8s.

Utter waste. Is there a word to use it for poor service, hospitality and reception please go with that. I booked the stay with my family for 4 nights. I checked in late night around 11:30pm and when I entered my room it was poorly managed, stinks, untidy washroom, sticky carpet, and no iron box. So I got one from the reception and later found that the iron box was not functional (water leaks) with the stand (rusted with dusty cloth) where I couldn’t iron my outfit. I got an alternate iron box and ended up by pressing my dress on the bed. The jug which I used to warm to feed my son ended leaking inside the microwave. Guess what not a surprise, the microwave didn’t work. We also saw insects in the room and lot more outside. The corridor was full of stain marks with black shoe and water marks. So I forced myself to look for some other hotel and ended up booking in other hotel for the rest of my days. When we checked out next day, the Nepali guy in the reception who doesn’t know English started rejecting my check out and treated my wife very badly. After her call explaining the incident, I left my work to check out by giving a call to the reception which they never answered. When I showed up at the hotel by 12:50, he started saying I crossed 1pm where in which I have to pay for the whole night even after me pointing the $40 additional cost for late checkout from 11-1pm which was displayed right in front of him. He refused and treated us very badly, inhuman, unprofessionally, no way you will believe how he treated us. So I ended calling 911 to put a full stop and the state troops showed up and helped us. Thanks the Plattsburgh State Troops. We never experienced this in any part of the world. If anyone read this message please don’t consider this even if you get it for very cheap cost. You can try and experience the same if they give you for free. I don’t know how I see few 5⭐️ rating from others. Usually I never see the review while booking. From now on this experience taught a lesson that I have to look in all reviews before I book something.
