Bathroom was old fashioned and dated, hole in to sheets on both beds, carpet very dirty, exposed lamp wires, walls had putty on them from covering holes, horrible continental breakfast; no eggs, no sausage or bacon, no bagels, or butter, no waffles, only bread, horrible tasting orange juice and a sad little pastry. Bathroom had mold coming out of wall and furniture surfaces were bubbling up and paint chipping off. Shower head too low. Iām 5ā8ā and still had to duck and bend my knees to wash off my head and face. No fitness center and pool was run down. Not worth $100.00 a night stay.
I wrote this review just days before learning that the hotel was sold off to another. Then watched as the people I've mentioned below, the people who were the reason we came to this property over & over were suddenly gone. Teresa had been here 40 years. I didn't even get to say goodbye. So everything that follows is how it was, not how it is. If rates stay the same, it is priced like Motel6 which is newer but the rooms are smaller. I hope they don't lose the personal attention to customers like it's been, time will tell. But what follows is how it was. We stay often here, partly for the big rooms & good location but also for the staff, who are great. Teresa is no nonsense and does a great job managing the hotel and seeing to it that you have everything you need to make your stay great. I see Myra if we're here weekends and she has gone out of her way many times to take care of any special requests on the spot. Even house keeping will do anything they can to make your stay more comfortable. The hotel is not The Bellagio, so realize it's older and has a few things they could upgrade, but the rooms are always clean and tidy with a fridge, micro and (480p) flat screen. And they are pet-friendly. It was $10 per night surcharge for your fur people (but it may be more now). It's owned by Wyndham so you can accrue points if you're a member. But it's not "The Wyndham". You'll get a big, clean room that's bigger than Motel6 IMHO, for the same price. But it's the people here that keep us coming back.
Stayed 2 nights. The woman at the front desk was very cool and helpful, and room service made sure everything was all good the second day. Rooms were pretty clean. All in all a good experience.
Drove 4 hours to visit my brother in the hospital. Decided to stay at the Super 8 the gal at the desk was super friendly upon check in last night. This morning went in for some coffee, juice and a pastry the lady working the counter was also very friendly. Enjoyed a lovely conversation with her this morning. Room was clean. Place was very quiet. We will most definitely stay here again.
Run down and a little scary. Furniture is worst I've ever seen in a motel; old and beat up. The green carpet is stained and funky. Bedding is long overdue for replacement. Bathroom is best described as crusty. The microwave is bolted to a frosty refrigerator. TV has analog channels only (blurry). Homeless guy wondering in parking lot. Trying to offer some positives; it did not smell bad and Visalia is a better place than anticipated. No problem at check in. If you're strapped for cash it's an option (maybe not your best option). p.s. They don't have breakfast...just toast.
