SureStay by Best Western Virginia Beach Royal Clipper

I stayed at location in mid Nov. The location was fantastic. Great value. By far the customer service was excellent. I checked in the front desk lady was so cordial and welcoming. She put my room on the same floor as my friends with no issue. The most amazing thing was that I forgot my wallet in the room unknowingly. I had no idea where I left it. It’s now Feb and I called the hotel to see if they found it. Brian helped me. Not only did they still have my wallet, they had tried to reach me since I checked out but I ignored their call. I offered to pay for return since I live in NC and Brian said, don’t worry about it. This is amazing. I’m getting my wallet back after 3 months. Can’t say more great things about these folks.

There are blood spatter on our sheets and have been since the start of our stay. I’ve asked the front to address this issue several times and it is not complete. I asked two different people - the first time I was told it would be taken care of. When I returned to the room it was not, so I called the front desk. I was told housekeeping was not in but first thing in the morning it would be resolved. At about 12pm housekeeping still had not come I called the front no answer. I went down there to talk to an employee, I was informed it would be taken care of shortly. 3 hours later and I still have blood spatter on my sheets and they are not changed. This time I was informed housekeeping was ‘busy taking care of other rooms with guests who have checked out’. I believe current guests should have priority. Unbelievable. The only reason for the 2nd star is the location.

Surprised by the low price and the high quality of the room that I received as well as exceptional customer service by every member of this team including the housekeeper whose name I did not get.. Brian off the front desk went above & beyond! He put me on the top floor without being asked; then I wasn't sure if the vending machine gave change for a pop.... so he went to a store and got it for me and didn't want any payment. Just wow! Then he had it delivered to my door by Shelly who was exceptional as well!!! What a team of kindness. You won't get that at the Hyatt or the Hilton across the street. They literally treated me like family! Wonderful job--- a mom and pop feeling is his area is so rare, especially right before Christmas! Many thanks!!!

For a budget hotel, this is a very nice hotel. The hotel is clean and the friendly staff works to make sure everything is satisfactory for the guest. The breakfast offers an easy to use waffle maker with premixed batter and syrup; fresh bagels (and a toaster), cream cheese, butter, jelly ; a few cold cereal choices, instant oatmeal packets; fresh fruit; packaged coffee cake, Danish and bars; a yogurt machine and coffee, teas and juices. NO eggs, which was not an issue for us but must be for some because we were for-warned. There is a pancake place across the street if you want more choices but you have to pay. Our room was a good size with a comfortable king bed. There is a small desk area with 2 chairs but no comfy chair or sofa. The bathroom has a big shower and was clean and plenty of towels. There is a coffee maker with supplies, an iron & board, a safe but only a small 1/2 length closet. The TV service was fine and the WiFi worked but I did have to resign-in but that may have been due to my phone settings. Check in & check out was super easy. The owners were on property and making sure the guest were taken care of every day. Very nice people. There was plenty of parking. It is a short block walk to the beach/boardwalk. The pool was cleaned even though it was not open due to cold weather. We stayed 10 day in December 2024. I gave it 5 stars because of the service we received. The cost was reasonable and location good. If you want fancy with many on site amenities and activities maybe look elsewhere. We enjoyed our stay, Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay, convenient location and the rooms were newly remodeled and clean,which is of most importance for us! Front desk peeps were friendly and enjoyable to talk to as well.Our room had a view of the ocean which was an added bonus.Sometimes the street noise was loud but that's not really the hotels fault
